SOURCE: well i was told its a ground problem meaning it

If you mean you lose your revers from time to time, you can check the wire harness connection on the passenger side of the transmission around where the Catalytic Converter is at. Inspect for any loose or damaged connections or wire from corrosion or heat from the catalytic converter.
The other cause of no revers is “lo-reverse” clutches are worn out, fluid leak in the reverse apply circuit, or broken sunshell. It is possible to remedy a fluid problem by removing the checkball from its cage in the case in the rear of the trans may help (must remove valvebody), or adding a high-viscosity additive such as Lucas Transmission additive or other seal restorer product. May also have worn boost valve (can replace in the pan).
Put a line pressure gauge (or visit a local trans shop) on the pressure test port and go for a drive to verify proper line pressure. Base pressure at idle in P,N,OD should be around 70psi and around 140psi in R. Max line pressure should be at least 190psi at WOT in 1st or 2nd, 225psi is optimum. If base pressure is low, trans or pump is worn out. If max pressure is low, check EPC solenoid. If reverse is slow to engage, and line pressure does not come up to at least 130psi in reverse, replace the boost valve with a Transgo 0.490" boost valve (easy fix in pan).
Good luck and hope it's just a loose connection that can be cleaned with brake parts cleaner and reattached if no damage is found to the terminals and wire leads. Thank you for using Fixya

Can I splice a ground wire into this 4 way female pigtail? 2009 Dodge Charger 3.5 V6 SXT automatic.

A redundant chassis ground should work fine. If this is a switching ground controlled by computer, that won't work. I haven't looked at your diagram.

Your shorthand was a little confusing to me? Check out the brake lamp wiring. The top wire, green with white tracer is voltage for brake lamp. the bottom wire in the diagram from lamp is ground, white with black tracer. Check voltage when brake is applied and check ground. As far as ground, you could try a redundant ground. Use a jumper wire from ground wire to bare metal spot on chassis, see if it works.

06 chevy trailblazer lt cluster (information center) come on and off; whenever it wants to. How do I fix this?

Wiring contact problem! Find the group of wires under the dashboard that supply the panel. Look for plug-in adapters on the wire run and disconnect them and reconnect them several times. Also look for ground screws that go to this harness and loosten and then tighten the connections yo the chassis ground points. Viberation of off-road vehicles is commonplace...have fun!

O2 sensors wiring diagrams

Locate the wires running off from the O2 sensor. There should be two. The black wire is the ground wire. The other wire, which may vary in color, supplies power to the sensor.

  • 2 Connect the power lead to the corresponding connector on the chassis's wiring harness.
  • 3 Connect the black, or ground, lead to the corresponding connector on the factory wiring harness.
  • 3 wires, "how do i wire it" are simply explained. all universal 3 wire o2 sensors will have 2 wires one color, the other wire a different color. the 2 that are the same color are ground and power for the heater and it doens't matter which one is which. so ground to the motor, power from the gray wire on the fuel pump, or anywhere you want to pull 12 volts while the car is running. i have a dedicated fan relay that doesn't use the ecm and runs off the key, so thats where i went. the different color wire goes to the stock sensor wire, it's the signal.

My 2001 toyota tacoma prerunner is burning the 10a tail light fuse immediately after i put it in

Then you have a short circuit to ground in this tail lamp wiring which you need to find to stop the fuse burning out. Finding a shorted circuit may not be easy but you can try this, check your trailer electrical connection (if you have one) as these do cause this kind of issue. Faulty wiring to this connector, damage or lost screws can all result in this issue. You may need to follow the rear wiring harness from the cab back to locate anywhere that the wiring has been crushed or rubbed through insulation has occoured and the copper conductor is now touching the body or a ground wire. Check the trailer connector, rear wiring behind the lamp assemblies and the harness where it runs in the chassis. If you have recently has any work done under the vehicle, check this area too..

My break lights will not work @ all, signals , nor will the back up lights. I checked the fuse box & the fuse are ok. what should I do?

check for a loose, coroded or broken ground wire.look for a black wire located in the wireing harness(trunk) that connects to the body or chassis.if you can't find it, connect a new ground with a trailer snap connector.place a length of wire next to the black ground wire and snap the two together in the trailer connector.take the new ground wire and connect it to metal somewhere in your trunk.now try your lights, they should work. if they don't, rub the bare end of the wire on an area that has no paint.check your ground wire from the battery to the body only if you don't have front lights working .

My air conditioning, power windows and and cruise don't work and service light came on what's wrong

With all of those things going out at the same time it is very possible that you have a bad ground that is effecting multiple accessories. It could be a chassis ground or a ground at the computer itself.

Where dose the ground lead to from the gas pump on a 1988 jeep comanche

Ground is achieved through the taillight harness which is grounded to the bed. If you unplug the rear harness the truck will not start unless the black ground wire is attached to the chassis.

    Fuel pump fuse

Check the wiring harness for a live>ground fault
maybe the live to the pump(s) rubbed hard against the chassis somewhere.disconnect the harness from the pumps along the chassis rail somewhere and put a fuse in again. keep following the harness back and disconnecting til the fuse sts good. U may need 3-4 fuses. at some point you sould locate the section where the live is grounding. be patient it may take a while to locate. be optimistic - it may only take a minute!
:) good luck, hope this helps
