Are you buying really cheap fuel, Mark? Try buying good brand-name fuel.
Wow come on. I buy from BP.SHELL TESCO AND ASDA not in a dark back street
OK, I can accept that - I had no way of knowing what you buy. Cheap fuel CAN cause problems like you describe, yet a lot of people buy it. So... if you're using decent fuel, then it sounds very much like your engine is getting too hot immediately after shutting it off, possibly getting too hot while you drive but not quite enough to boil the fuel in the fuel rail. Check your cooling fan (at the radiator), and also check your coolant level (in the RADIATOR, not in the overflow tank). Do this while the engine's cold, of course.
My radiator is fine .coolant is fine.engine temp normal.all gauges working correctly.was informed on another site it more than like the crankshaft sensor .so its booked it garagr tom hopefully its the problem
Did you get a "Check Engine" light and find a code that pointed to the crankshaft position sensor? If that sensor was bad, the computer would bark about it. It's possible it's flaky and only works when it's not full-hot, but you WOULD get a "Check Engine" light if that's the cause.
No lights at all.
In that case, I can't think your crank position sensor is giving you trouble. The computer would certainly complain if it was.
Hi tim. Been to the garage put a computer to it.and low and behold it was the crank sensor.
Cool! That, at least, is a simple fix! Excellent! 8)

I think that your crank angle sensor failed. Is the check engine light on?? if so, scan it and get code. If the code is P0335, than you need new crank angle sensor. Nissan has been having some problems with those even on other Nissan products. (Altima, Pathfinder and so on) Good luck.

It sounds like a bad solenoid/ bendix or pssibly a bad ground connection.
SOURCE: i have an 03 merc. sable. 58000 miles. drove 22
I've had the same thing happen with my '03 Sable. at around the same milage. THe one thing is that it only happened when it was cold and damp like early sping in MIchigan. I changed the plugs and wires and seems to be ok now. I'm at 70K and the transmission has gone out! Getting harder to beat the FORD drum when they keep pumping POS vehicles out like this!

anti-theft is what you want to start with. if its not the basics of loose wires to fuel pump, starter, battery, injectors/computer, or fuse blocks.
SOURCE: Hi. I have a problem
Hi there?
It sounds like the injectors are blocked. the reason i say this is because the bottom of the tank is full of durt and it must have got through when it was low in diesel.
You need to get the car scanned, if the code p1517 comes up then the injectors are block for sure.
Good luck.........
