Why does my 2008 Kia rio misfired on number 2 cyl.

Running ruff. What needs to be done to correct problem?

Your coil pack for that cylinder is shot ,you can try switching it with one of the others and if it follows to that cylinder its the coil pack

    mine had a bad valve cover gasket and oil leaked down around the coil pack and messed it up so check for oil leak to yeah its probaly the coil pack

Usally its either a bad sparkplug or an injector.I would replace the sparkplug and see if it goes away.

You are correct.
1-3-5 are next to the firewall and 2-4-6 are next to the radiator.

I have a 2009 Kia Rio, that had the #3 cylinder not working then I got a grinding, popping sound. I'm not driving it for fear of it breaking down. What could the problem be, and the cost?
if it had a cyl 3 misfire code it is proably the coil needs replaced.

Do a Compression Test, do a VISUAL INSPECTION of the Spark Plugs. If there is a COLOR DIFFERENCE and / or the Spark plugs on Cylinder 1 and 2 are CLEAN. you have a blown head gasket.

I have done so many of these 1.9 liter Turbo's with this same Problem that I can no longer count...

Could be a weak coil on number 4 cyl.
Switch coils between 3 and 4 and see if the code now reads #3 misfire,then you will know you need a coil.
Maybe the check engine light will stay off after the switch.

Have an 07 Kia Rio, replaced timing belt road test ran great but could hear a little whizzing on acceleration. brought back in to adjust now has a definite misfire, cyl 1 & 4 zero compression. idle is...
check your distributor cap may need replacement also other components to check spark plugs and wires good luck
