Fix cruise control on my 2009 Chevy tahoe - 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe

When the fuel pump was changed, the battery was disconnected as standard practice.Now the Security System needs resetting.

No there isn't one. Cruise control is a joint effort from BCM and ECM. Check the Body Control Module fuses.

Check the adjustment and condition of the brake light switch located above the brake pedal. If it's out of adjustment, it will shut down the cruise.

If there is a problem with the ABS the cruise control is disabled ! you have to fix the ABS problem for the CC to work !

The fuel pump control module is controlled by the ECM - engine control module , Possibility of DTC'S stored ! You need to take to Chevy Dealer !
The engine control module (ECM) supplies voltage to the fuel pump control module (FPCM) when the ECM detects that the ignition is ON. The voltage from the ECM to the FPCM remains active for 2 seconds, unless the engine is in Crank or Run. While this voltage is being received, the FPCM closes the ground switch of the fuel pump and also supplies a varying voltage to the fuel tank pump module in order to maintain the desired fuel rail pressure.

CK codes c0131 ABS/TCS system pressure circuit malfunction. Their is a Technical Service Bulletin out for this that is being addressed by chevy so you may want to get in touch with them.

I had a front brake caliper that was sticking, and after replacing it, cruise worked fine.

I suggest to check your tail lights. sometimes if they go out, the cruise control will not work. Oh and also, what i did when this happened to me, I checked under the brake pedal and pushed and pulled the little button that activates the taillights and it worked again. It may have gotten stuck..
The brake light fuse may have popped..

THE CENTER HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LAMP (CHMSL) IS AFFECTED IN BOTH INSTANCES. ALSO, IF EQUIPPED, THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL BECOME INOPERATIVE. ANY TRAILER BRAKE LAMPS WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE LAMP WIRING WILL MIMIC THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE LAMPS WHEN EITHER CONDITION OCCURS.

The BRAIN BOX which is known by most car owners controls the throttle boy accellerations control when engaging the cruise control on. If your fuses are good I recomend have the servo (brain box) checked
