Chevrolet recall list

Call any dealership, they have to tell you truthfully if so

Is this a Chevrolet/GMC product...YES - its the ignition switch!! It should have been replaced under the switch recall!!!

Hi Ron, You might want to take that to the dealer, GM has a recall on most of there newer vehicles for Ignition switch failure, RE: Ignition lock cylinder, key etc, And if your vehicle is an 08 Colorado I can almost bet it will be on either the Manufact. Recall list or NHTSA list. You can go to there site, and put your VIN number in and it will tell you all Recalls, TSB's and Investigations. GM also has a site for this as well. GM has a recall on all GM products for faulty ignition switches for the past 12 years
I suggest that you contact a service dealer and see if your vehicle falls in that recall
it was a result of ignition switches failing and switching off cars that resulted in a number of traffic deaths
It received world news attention
it is wort a shot anyway as your car falls in the 12 year period

You may need to replace the ignition lock.

Gm has a recall on most vehicles there are a few that are listed
pontiac g5 chevroler venture the ignition switches on these cars are defective they wont turn or pop out also did you notice if your srs lamp on aka airbag lamp in the recall campain air bags are affected due to loss of power causeing no power codes to flash in the obd2 system airbags eont deploy in a colision
best bet would be to bring it to the deslership an remind them of the lawsuit against chevrolet and gm get it fixed for free towing as well
other senerio tumblerd are wornn out on the key lock and is not affected by recall lock cylinder has to be replaced

i thik they have a current recall for it you may want to check with the chevy dealer in your area and see what they say
