Loose battery terminals usualy negative terminal.
Recheck the battery with a load test.
Has car been in recent accident.
Check that all your ground wires are well attached and attaching points are clean and free of corrosion. Also check for parasitic drains such as an underhood light, trunk light, map light, floor lights, something plugged into dc outlet like a cell phone charger left plugged in, etc. is not draining your battery overnight or over time when parked.

test the voltage on both the batterys positive and the jumping post positive while cranking, that will tell you how much power is being drawn and where you maybe loosing it, i would replace any battery that drops below 11volts

i had a 2003 ctc that did the same thing, it wouldn't start or would make a clicking sound and about 1 mth after the problem started aND mechanics could not find a problem my car caught on fire and burned completely from something under the right side of the hood. i had just parked the car and got out, it happened really fast. the fire chief said the cause was unknown????
now i have a 2004 cts and i'm having the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! has anyone else had this happen???? please be cautious if your cts is doing this, during the fire my doors locked and had to be pried into by fire chief.

Hello, from the description that you have given I think you may be right, I think that the switch has passed its use by date. However have it checked by an auto electrician to confirm this before spending to much money. Best of luck with it, hope this helps.

its the mass air flow sensor follow your air intake hose till it connects with engine ( throttle body ) it is right on top first thing plugged in unplug it then start it it will be fine got knew one at junkyard for $20 they are new for $150 or more my 97 runs great thought it was fuel pump its mass air flow sensor

Could possibly be a ignition contact going bad
Try looking if there is any current draw from the vehicle when it is not in use, you could have a unwanted load drawing current from battery when the vehicle is not in use.
