First thing is to check the abs for trouble codes so you know what to start testing.

SOURCE: car won't start

Only a few basic things are necessary for the engine operation 1. Fuel (To be exact proper air/fuel ratio, normally it is about 14/1)
2. Spark (in appropriate moment)
3. Proper timing (the valves should open and close only in appropriate time)
4. Compression in the cylinders (Normal compression is 120 - 170 psi. The engine won't start if the compression is lower than 70 - 80 psi.)
Plus, to start the engine, the battery, the starter and the starter circuit should be OK.

If the engine won't start - there's no magic - one of these things is probably missing. Most often it's a spark- or fuel- related problem, but often it could be very simple things like dead battery.
If the car won't start, check simple things first:
Make sure you have a fuel in the tank, oil in the engine and the battery is OK, follow this link - How to check the battery
Now simply answer the questions, press "Yes" or "No" (If it's blue, follow the link).

- Do you hear the cranking sound when you're trying to start your car? (Yes No )
- When you switch the ignition ON before starting a car, does the "check engine" light come ON? (Yes No )
- When you switch the ignition ON, do you hear fuel pump buzzing sound from the gas tank area? (Yes No )
Before your engine died, did you experience any prior events such as:
- leaving the lights ON overnight (Yes No)
- driving through a deep puddle, or washing the engine compartment? (Yes No)
- trying a jump start? (Yes No)
- having only a little fuel in a tank? (Yes No)
- having had the engine repaired recently? (Yes No)
- the engine was overheated? (Yes No)
- extremely low oil pressure? (Yes No)
- unusual noises such as knocking, pinging, whistling? (Yes No)
- smoking from exhaust pipe? (Yes No)
- strong smell of a gas? (Yes No)

Now, let's try again. Turn off the radio, try to crank the engine one more time, and listen carefully. Is the cranking sounds different than it used to be? If it's different, does it looks like the engine being cranked by the starter too slowly? (Yes No)
Is the engine being cranked too fast? (Yes No)

Hope this may help;

youturn signal flasher is part of the hazzard switch located in the center of the dash above the radio. the trim piece around the radio and the climate controls pops off using a small flat bladed scewdriver.

SOURCE: i have a 2004 saturn vue when i apply the brakes my abs comes on

It sounds like one of your wheel sensors isn't working, and the ABS is thinking that one wheel is locked up, so it's activating ABS.

I own a 2009 SATURN AURA. Warning light shows "Service traction" as well as "service ESC". Is this serious ? I f so what do I do ?

ESC is what some manufacturers call ESP.

The traction control system uses the wheel speed sensors of the ABS (antilock brake) system but instead of releasing the brake of a wheel that is locking, uses a different programme to apply the brake of a wheel spinning under acceleration. I believe the ESC system is similar in principle but a more refined programme to increase vehicle stability.

Servicing the system is a specialist task requiring access to some sophisticated electronic equipment and somewhere in the process there should be an experienced thorough visual inspection of all the external components.

How do i reset my traction control

Is your trac light lit ? If so it has a problem an till it is fixed , you can't reset it. Need to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .
If the ABS control module detects a malfunction, it will disable TCS and will command the BCM to turn the TRAC LED Off. The driver can also disable TCS, if desired, by depressing the TRAC switch. When the driver depresses the TRAC switch, the ABS control module will disable TCS and will command the BCM to turn the TRAC LED Off.
DTC C0276 TCM Traction Control Not Allowed
DTC C0275 or C0276
The TCM sends a serial data message to the electronic brake control module (EBCM) indicating that torque reduction is temporarily not allowed.
DTC C0550
DTC C0896
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) is required to operate within a specified range of voltage to function properly. During antilock brake system (ABS) and traction control system (TCS) operation, there are current requirements that will cause the voltage to drop. Because of this, voltage is monitored out of ABS/TCS control to indicate a good charging system condition, and also during ABS/TCS control when voltage may drop significantly. The EBCM also monitors for high voltage conditions which could damage the EBCM.

Saturn vue 2004 intermittent abs and traction control comes on and after restarting shuts off?

Has this happened after you replaced the sensors for the abs. if so they have to be set at a gap close to the rotor sensor to read correctly. The other thing maybe if the new sensors area slightly different to the original ones the abs might be having trouble identifying them.
The last one maybe, could the new brake pads be causing flexing or pushing against something resulting in this intermittent problem.

I have a 2002 VW New Beetle. The ABS light has come on and there is a chiming beep and the ABS light flickers. What could be the problem?

ABS - Anti-lock Brake System.
If the ABS lights on the dashboard permanently the ABS system is faulty. You must access the ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, ...). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ABS ECU, in other words reset the ABS system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.
ASR - Acceleration Skid Control system.
When ASR warning light blinking the system is activated itself for car acceleration skid control.

For today's typical high-torque engines, traction control (ASR) can increase both comfort and safety, particularly when driving on slippery roads or surfaces offering differing levels of grip. Traction control permits smooth starting and acceleration through the full speed range without wheel-spin or fishtailing.
tdisline_703.jpg

ASR only operates in conjunction with the electronic accelerator (E-gas) and uses components of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). If one wheel suddenly begins to rotate faster than the others (slip), ASR intervenes in the engine management system and reduces power until the wheel stops spinning.
The ASR system represents a further contribution to active safety as it maintains vehicle traction and directional stability throughout the acceleration phase at any speed. In addition, it reduces tyre wear. Activation of the ASR system is indicated by a flashing indicator lamp in the instrument cluster.
The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. ESP system includes the ABS system.

Brake peddle is chattering 2003 ion and would like to pull the anti lock brake fuse (if safe ) until i can afford the repair. I would like to know witch fuse to pull?ABS is on and traction control

If brake pedal is chattering or pulsating it is most likely because you need either front or rear rotors, or both. They are rusted or out of round. If there is something wrong with either your abs or traction control, the abs or traction control light will come on & stay on. As soon as these lights come on, it automatically disables abs or traction control. If you would like to take out fuse that disables abs or traction control circuits, it will leave the lights on.You just wont have their functions. If by some strange condition your chattering goes away, then there is indeed something wrong with your abs or traction control.Fuses are labeled abs or traction either under hood or in your fuse panel in car.
