SOURCE: fuel filter on a 6.2 diesel

You need to install an electric fuel pump to lift the fuel from the tank to the mechanical pump. You can turn off the electric pump after starting or use it when bleeding the lines after changing the fuel filter. You can start the truck after a few minutes instead of a few days. I know from experience and fought that problem for years.

SOURCE: mazda 6 2o diesel replaced turbo new unit same

There is a oil drain return from the turbo charger to the sump. If the sump oil level covers the outlet into the sump, oil will build excess pressure tin the turbo causing the sealing rings to leak oil in to the intake manifold. This would cause smokey exhaust and loss of oil. Try this. Drain the sump completely, refill with the exact quantity of oil to Mazda spec. Dip the oil and if the new oil level is lower than the full mark on the dipstick, you have found the cause of the problem. Mark this new level with a scriber or file and fill only to this new level. Hope this is the solution.

Hi all just changed the fuel filter in my 2008 lancer now wont start i suspect the fuel pump is this common cheers phil

is this a diesel? if so you have got air in the system there is a bleeding system you should follow after filter change which normally involves switching ignition on/off 6or 8 times with few secs in between with ign on to bleed air from system if it got a electric fuel delivery!. or if its mechanical a vacuum prime pump is needed which may be a dealer bit of kit which ever it is dont try and start until the air has been removed. you must not get air in to tha high pressur side. i suspect @2008 it will be common rail system and can cause major probs if you get air in the high pressure side not easy to advise you dont say what engine you have. if its petrol then changing the fuel filter should not cause a prob if fitted correctly,if its common rail diesel and you have got air in the high pressure side you have to slacken the high pressure pipes and keep cranking the engine to exclude the air after 1st bleeding the low pressue side of the system then retighten the pipes. but any high pressure pipes loosened should be renewed they are normally one use only and could leak if not good luck

Location of fuel filter in 2012 bt-50

(i bet your read the operators guide, and it never mentions this.
but bobby next door said to look?)????????????

why do you ask, who told you to look,
MAZDA BT-50 , 2012
what country?> in Australia?
IT is a larger version of the predecessor B-Series pickup and is not sold in the Japanese and North American market.
so where? is it? cars vary by COUNTRY BIG TIME>

which engine? Size, and GAS or DIESEL. both are used.

now my wild guess based on USA cars. not yours. so.
there is no outside fuel filters now.
in the USA its a EPA (quasi mandate) (by parameter edict)
(in lay terms, keeps fuel colder)
ours were moved to the inside of the tank, and the line in the
operators guide, service tables, the filter change is deleted. here.

so who told you , you need this, and why?

When I drive along it's all fine, but when I put my foot down the car starts to skip like its short of fuel.

Do not do anything if it is a common rail diesel without more instruction. Common rail can be very dangerous & the following instructions are not for common rail. Probably is short of fuel. When was the fuel filter last replaced & the sediment trap drained. A lot of diesels also have a lint filter (fine mesh) located in the pump where the fuel line goes out of the filter into the pump. You just remove & blow out with compressed air. Do you know how to prime & bleed the system. Did the problem start just after haveing a fuel filter fitted?

After mud and water went through my fuel system a mechanic advised me to change injectors, rail and injector pump but cant get injectors out. It is 3ltr turbo diesel common rail.

your filters should have prevented mud from getting to your injetors, water in the system can cause some problems but nothing so drastic as to change the injectors injector pump or the rail....change your filters, water collectors. make sure there is no more mud or water in your tank . not familiar with that particular engine but you may have to bleed the injection system....oh and get a new mechanic
