Hi Nsilguero,
I apologize for the delay in responding.
From your description, I'm leaning toward a timing chain problem, first stretching, then skipping and finally breaking.
If you're getting voltage to the coil and still getting no spark, there is a test I'd like you to try.
Take off the distributor cap and have someone turn the engine over while you eyeball the rotor. Is it spinning?
This going to take some back and forth interaction. Comment me back with the results. We will proceed from there.
Mike

check and see if you have spark at the coil you can do this by getting an inline spark tester no more then ten dollars if you have spark then try replacing the distributor

I was leaving for work, as I started to excellerate, my engine starting getting sluggish, check engine light came on, so I pulled over. As I pulled over it started to smoke, when I opened the hood I couldn't tell where it was coming from. It will turns over but won't start.

Start with fuel system. Listen for fuel pump humm at fuel tank No humm check wiring to pump for power. Then check for spark at plugs and wires. Remove wire from coil and hold near engine and see arch when you crank. No arch. Replace ignition Modular inside distributor cap or cap or rotor
