What should the spark plug gap be set to?

the spec is .043", for both the V6, and the Inline 4. The theory behind enlarging gaps, is that a larger gap creates a larger spark, thus more effecient ignition. The problem is, your ignition system was designed for the .043" spark plug gap, not larger. Enlarging the gap puts a greater strain on your ignition system components, and it may not be strong enough to jump a larger gap. The result would be less efficient combustion, or a cylinder(s) that won't fire at all. Pull your plugs, and set them at .043". Check the distributor cap, rotor, wires, and your filters. Make sure the car is totally warmed up before the smog test. Good luck.

Spark plugs gap

no engine stated? wow. 3.5L? says no gap settings.
its in the FSM. many cars dont put it in the op guide as the plugs
are rated to 80k miles or more, and is not consider, operator deal.
sadly.
and many folks think the new plugs are set in the factory , WRONG. (comment is for J plugs not surface fire tech)

i see you are there.!
many stores, list it wrongly too.... vast....
but you never said country car was sold.
in the USA we open the hood, look up and behold, its right there.
the vacuum and turn up sticker,
now alldata.com
quotes to follow.........all.
the original equipment spark plugs installed in the Odyssey 3.5L V-6 engine are platinum tip spark plugs, and the plug gap must not be adjusted.
and other warnings, and the no file them warn.g
On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, adjust the spark plug gap to 0.039-0.043 inches (1.0-1.1mm). On Odysseys with the V6 engine, check, but do not adjust the spark plug gap. The spark plug gap should be 0.039-0.043 inches (1.0-1.1mm). If the spark plug gap exceeds 0.051inches (1.3mm), replace the spark plug.

so 1mm , if not v6

Need do know the spark plugs gap

If you're replacing the spark plugs in your car engine, you'll need to set the gap before reseating the spark plug. The gap is the distance electricity arcs between the ground electrode and center electrode. The gap must be set correctly to ensure maximum performance. Here's how to set the gap of a spark plug.

  1. Remove the spark plug wires. Use a socket wrench to remove the spark plugs from their chambers.
  2. Clean the spark plug if you are not replacing it with a new one. Remove all dirt and debris from the spark plug.
  3. Check the owner's manual for your car (or any appliance with spark plugs) to find out the recommended gap setting.
  4. Use a gap tool to check the gap of the spark plug. Slip the tool between the ground electrode and center electrode. The gap tool should fit snugly at the recommended gap width indicated on the tool.
  5. Push the tool between the electrodes a few times to ensure proper gap. If the gap is too wide, push the ground electrode firmly against a flat surface to narrow the gap and then check again with the gap tool.
  6. Repeat Step 5 as necessary until you reach the correct gap. Reseat the spark plug and reattach the spark plug wires
Good Luck
