How do I remove and replace a 1998 buick lesabre passenger side front fender? I have the Fender purchased but need to remove the old and transfer the trim to the new and then install the new.
SOURCE: Buick LeSabre left front window will not close
Don it. Good half day for amateur. Get Chilton 86-99 Bonneville, 88, Lesabre manuel.. Tricky to find bolts are under end flaps on door close handgrips. Took me a day to figure that one out. Others under light at lip of back of door. Book indicates to strart with window 3/4 up if you can. Flip up window control at rear of panel. After all screws are out raise outer edge of armrest and look for notches 4" and 11-1/2" from rear of armrest to slide inward to remove. There are screws under the door handle too. Screws everwhere. When pulling bottom of panel from door lift with a notched bar to avoid tearing the fasteners out of the cardboard panel. Two screws behind seatbelt notch at top need to come out to allow positioning the glass. The panel at the bottom of the top opening can be removed for more fredom in positioning the glass when reinserting the ball in the lower track on the window. Tape glass with duct tape to keep it from falling. Drill the factory rivets that hold the old regulator and I replaced with stove bolts with nylon locknuts slotted head to the inside the car. Can't remember the size, probably 1/4 or 3/16". Remove speaker if in front bottom of door to use your hand to do work in the door. You must twist the regulator forward with window 1/2 down to remove the ball from the socket in the bottom sliding metal track at the bottom of the window. Don't drop the window after removing the socket, tape it in place. Don't know what you do if you cannot move it to 1/2 up position. By the way, the body shops say you must use rivets, not screws or it will shift, but I have had no problems with the screws for reinstallation several years old. The rivet they use take a big hydraulic pop rivet gun that you won't have. Good luck, I don't envy you. Need to do other window on my 91. The window control may not be the same on the Custom, mine is the Ltd. you may be able to remove the motor from the regulator in the door without removing the regulator if you can figure out how to get the bolts that hold the moter to the regulator. inside the door.

Disconnect your negative battery cable. Locate and remove
the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they may be hidden by
snap in, or snap on clips). Remove the interior door handles, then disconnect
the wire clips to the switches. Your panel is held in place by snap in clips;
use a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to get as close to, or
directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel).
Once the clips are pulled, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.
Install in reverse.
If you don't have power windows you will have to
remove the manual window crank. It is held in place by a clip on the back side
of the base. To remove the clip, you will need a small hook (kind of like a
knitting needle). Put the hook in behind the base, and grab the clip and pull
it off. To replace it, slide the clip back on the window crank, and snap it
back on the door.
SOURCE: REPLACEMENT OF [LOW BEAM] HALOGEN BULB IN 2004 Buick LeSabre
I just Replaced a Low Beam Light bulb on a 2005 Buick La Sabre.
If You use a Metric socket and Remove the Two Silver bolts Attaching the headlight Assemble onto the metal surrounding the the lamp assembly it comes out to the front. This makes it much easier to access the bulb. Twist it counerclockwise & it comes out by pulling gently on the bulb. Then by realeasing a tab that is the socket holder bulb can be removed & replaced with a New #9006 low beam halogen light bulb. Wrap a Paper towel around the bulb & do NOT touch it with your bare hand as this wiil ruin a halogen bulb,
SOURCE: To remove radio on a 1998 Buick LeSabre describes
I have a 1995 and 1999 LeSabre and the radio removal is the same on both.
1. Carefully remove the AC vents from the dash.
2. In each of the AC openings are screws that hold the top of the dash trim in place.
3. Starting from the passenger door gently pry off the "wood" trim piece, It is held in place with metal clips and velcro.
4. Do the same as 3 from the driver side (short piece).
5. Remove the remaing screws from the bottem of the dash.
6. Move the Shift knob (requires key) all the way down.
7. Starting at each end of the dash slowly pry/pull each clip along the top of the dash from its mounting hole. Be careful not to crack the silver trim piece on the top of the dash (especially on top of the passenger airbag).
8. When the dash is free tilt the top in towards the car and wiggle it loose around the bottom (over the steering column) and the whole piece should come free.
This gives access to the radio, heater controls, speedo etc.
For the radio - three screws - antenna cable pop out. The harness needs a little more work. If your radio has a security feature (blinking light when car is off) make sure you know the security unlock code. Test the code before pulling the power to the radio.
Turn the radio over and carefully unlock the blue clip at the bottom of the plug. Then work the harness loose.
This sounds much worse than it is - it should take 15-30 minutes depending if you have all the tools close by. BTW those AC vents have a top and bottom - the larger hole goes on the bottom and they snap back in place.
