My speedometer stop working what can i do to fix it

Causes...............

Faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor
- Vehicle speed sensor harness or connectors is open or shorted
- Vehicle speed sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

The P0500 code is very common on the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Camry, Toyota Tundra, Toyota RAV-4. Before replacing the sensor you should try cleaning the sensor gear and erasing the code. If the light comes back you may have to replace the sensor.

99 camry wont shift Code P0500 speed sensor

The problem is a gear internal failure the gear who drive the speed sensor is defect the is why you don't have speed sensor reading. There is a way you can verify that remove the speed sensor drive it with a drill check the dashboard you will see.

P0793, fault code on toyota camry 2008

code refers to intermediate shaft speed sensor---no signal causes may bewiring---poor connections---short to ground. intermediate shaft speed sensor ECM/TCM I wqould start with the sensor replacing it with a genuine sensor as aftermarket may have different setting and the cpu recognises as faulty still.

Part of the problem may be that just because your are getting a speed sensor code, this does not necessarilly mean that you need to replace the speed sensor. Please note that fault codes NEVER tell you what parts to replace. Fault codes only tell you which of the hundreds of systems and circuits in your car are malfunctioning. When these codes are retrieved from computer memory, the circuits and/or systems involved must be DIAGNOSED to find the CAUSE of the failure. Sometimes the problem is being caused by a failed sensor and sometimes it is being caused by sensor circuits failing or outside interference in the sensor circuits caused by high voltage spikes frome things like faulty ignition coils. (YES - I have seen MANY sensor codes caused by faulty ignition coils)

The bottom line is that you must first scan your engine computer to find out what codes are presently setting in the computer memory. Then these codes must be PROPERLY DIAGNOSED to find the actual CAUSE of the code.

Hooking up a code reader and retrieving fault codes is only the FIRST STEP in diagnosis. Many people think that this is all that is involved in diagnostics. This is very much like saying that getting pregnant is all that is involved in raising a child into adulthood.

2002 CAMRY LE automatic transmission. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH P0500 CODE comes on intermittently. Can feel a small **** when speed hits 10 mph and then at 20 mph. Took to a service station and mechanic...

for the p0500, the solution:
The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
i know this tool is helpful for your car.
Next, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the speed sensor. The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly.
If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor. Again, the exact procedure wil depend on your make and model of vehicle.
If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.

2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .
