Id clean the throttle body before spending more money on anything else, as carbon build up can cause rough idling.
you can clean it with throttle body cleaner, or just gasoline and a toothbrush, then wipe off the build up.

Code 0304 #4 cyl misfire - 2000 lincoln LS - the spark plugs are good and the seals are not leaking, (no oil at plugs). The car does run but its kind of on the rough side and it has a really tough time...

You replace the spark plugs with the factory spec
plugs every 3 years

You replace both upstream O2 sensors every 100,000 miles

The COP ignition coils can last 2 years or 8, but they all fail by then

With no experience & me not writing a book here, on how to diagnose, just replace all the coils

Get them from Rock Auto

The codes you get are not much use as they are not accurate
The coils act up in different ways & set all sorts of codes

Replaced plugs and coil pack on 2001 ford taurus now car will not start

You will need to figure out if you have spark to the plugs, and if not- if you have voltage to the coil to proceed.

Lincoln 2002 LS has low power at higher speeds and wants to turn off at idle. Also shakes a little at idle. Could it be miss firing?

The EGR Valve could be an issue

Almost certain you will have 1 or 2 bad cop
ignition coils a year,so misfire ,yes

Could be several other problems

Need the correct spark plugs, they are special
to the LS,anything will fit,but not work right

O2 Sensors have to get changed at 100,000 miles

MAF Sensor Cleaned

V6 or V8

V8 is a lot easier to work on & less issues

Idling with bad mpg and slight engine ticking noise with engine light on. No loss of horsepower at all, runs smooth once accelerated. Checked codes that included misfire in cylinder 7 and running lean and...

in this case i would say the engine valves are the problem.the ticking is a valve noise and points to a sticking valve.change the oil and use a sythathic oil it cost more but worth it plus change oil filter and ad a oil enhancer a small tub but worth it ,you will see the change right away.adrian

ABS/Engine light on/off & skips when stopped or at 40-50 m/h

as far as the abs light goes, and depending on the code of the engine light, you may just have a bad abs sensor, and replacement should fix your problems, although you should have a shop replace them.

your engine light could also be from a misfire, which could be the cause of your 'puttering'. that is the most likely cause, which can be a number of problems from your spark plugs being fouled to inactive injectors.
