The standard low beam light (H1) is 55 watts or if you have a H4 bulb the wattage will be 55-65 watt

SOURCE: replace low beam bulb in 2005 jetta

  1. Open the vehicle's hood and secure it in an upright position.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the socket cover by pulling it straight off, or turning it clockwise then pulling it off.
  4. Carefully twist the bulb and socket counterclockwise, then pull the assembly from the headlight housing.
  5. Holding the base of the bulb, detach it from the connector harness.

To install:
  1. Holding the base of the bulb, install it securely in the connector.
  2. Install the connector and bulb assembly in the housing and twist to lock into position.
  3. Install the sealing cover by pushing it on and/or turning it counterclockwise. Make sure the cover is installed securely or the lens will be out of focus, or water may get into the light unit.
  4. Disconnect the negative battery cable and check the headlight operation.

SOURCE: front end light adjustments

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

No. they are on seperate fuses. If the bulbs have not blown then please see your VW agents. This may be an onboard power supply issue.

Fuse box diagram

No there is not, you either have a dual filiment bulb or a pulse width modulated system, if one works but not the oter you an bet it's the bulb. Also on the 11 Jettas try switching the bulb from side to side with the bulb housing.

Low beam fuse location 2011 Jetta tdi

If your low beam is not functioning even though the bulbs are fine, you may have a faulty fuse. To replace fuse - open the fuse box and locate fuse number 20 for right side headlight and fuse number 21 for left side headlight. Both are 15 Amp fuses, and a simple replacement can do the trick. To know more about what fuses your car has, what they do, and where they are located, follow this link: https://www.liveabout.com/volkswagen-jetta-fuse-map-4686424

Nighthawk platinum h/light bulbs. What is needed to install them? Fittings differ from original. Its a 2009 model.

If your looking at a larger "fitting" it may be pulled off the bulb and installed on the new one. Then fit to vehicle.

Low beam headlights don't work

Click on the link.
This is for 03 jetta gls
There are fuses for left and right low beams. Headlights on low beam, use a test light, see if voltage on fuse circuit? If no voltage that will lead us back to dimmer switch or problem with wiring circuit from dimmer switch.
