SOURCE: 2002 Ford Focus 2.0l SOHC running on 3 cylinders

I had this problem too exept I have no clue what parts or blah b;ah blah. I just know that my coil pack was getting fried.burnt out because my wires were bad. The mechanic I went to was a moron because I took the car to him 3 times and he kept saying it was the coil ad kept replacing it. I took it to my uncle and he said my wires were in horrible shape and when this is the problem it fries your coil making your car run like a lawn mower! Well all i did was replace my wires and the car ran great! Well I hope this helped..

Hi im ed i have a 1994 ford taurus gl 3.0 i was driving it go hot and shut down i pulled over it wasnt boiling over didnt smell hot so i let it site started it and drove it till it started to get hot then...

I am no ford expert. However your problem seems to be one of troubleshooting an engine that will not start. What you have told me in your description of the troubles seems to be two problems - one is the lack of spark and two the seizing of the engine. Apparently you have a gauge or over-temperature light that tells you car has a leak or crack in the block. The spark can be tested by plugging in a sparkplug to sparkplug wire and touching metal part of the plug to the engine - if it sparks then the ignition is OK.

1987 f 150 6 cyl starts and runs till hot then wont till cooled off

Probably a bad ignition coil or a bad TFI module (the ignition control module). Much testing could be done to find the faulty part, but I believe if you take the TFI module to a parts store, it could be tested.

98 honda runs fine then turns off while running on freeway then will crank but not start for about 30 mins changed ignition switch plugs an wires help plz

it may take some talking back and forth but i can help you fix this. does it seem like the engine stalls once its good and warmed up and wont start till its cooled down a bit? this is very common and its ussually caused by the coolant temp sender (not the one for the dash the one that runs you fuel and emissions) more or less it goes out and you car doesnt know its warmed up so it floods the motor out after a few miles because more or less the choke is stuck "on" . once the motor cools down it will typically start right back and and then repeat the symptom. ive seen other issues cause this but the coolant temp sender is very common and also a cheap fix ( just did one on a buick and the part cost 14 bucks and it took me about 15 minutes to replace). is the check engine or service engine soon light on or does it come on then go off?

if you first get in the first start of the day and it runs great you have full power that tells me that everything youve done so far is good because it wont run great at any time if those things are bad, it may be 2 things you might have some bad fuel [water] you might try some heat [yellow bottle at auto store] in your gas tank if that dosent work it might be a new problem i had a ford that done the same thing, it was a clogged catalittic converter if its going bad your truck will not have power and will idol sloppy after it heats up. i found mine after it was trying to die on me after i had driven it long enough to heat it up. it was dark and i crawled under the truck and could see it glowing red hott i changed it and it ran great. the converter is located infront of the muffler or before the muffler it has a heat shield over it and you should be able to see if its glowing. i checked it in the evening after the sun sett so it would be easyer too see if it was glowing. the converter heats up and expands not letting the proper exhause to your muffler thats why it would run ok after it sit and cooled off. the metel cooled and shrank and the truck would run good till it was hott again.. i hope this helps

Truck dies after being driven less then 20 miles and wont restart till it cools down

Check the radiator cooling fan.Is it running when the engine gets hot.It should run.If not then its the problem. Also get the coolant level checked. If the coolant is low or if its getting leaked then it can be the issue.

2003 tdi, 54 k miles, bought car new, had manifold cleaned, new glow plugs and harness. car has been driven only short commutes for 3 years. Heavy blue smoke at startup, then it clears right up. No...

valve seals are going. when car sits excess oil gets past the valve seals then when you staRT up it burns the oil off then runs fine and no more blue smoke. It is fine to run like that had the same in a dodge caravan 1996 6cyl. ran another 100 000 km. and still ran fine got rid of it for other reasons.

1992 F-350 Dsl - very hard to start when cool

are you using cold temperature engine oil!
if not, try changing oil for cold temperature!

hard starting happens due to the cold temperature, air pressure is low during this season so compression inside the engine is low resulting to hard starting!

make sure that all your glow plugs are working.
