How to replace a rear stud on an 05 ram 2500? I figure it is pretty srtaight forward, but didn't see anything in the Haynes Book.. Also, my wife's '05 Escape has a loose hose from the washer...

On the Dodge, the wheel studs are pressed into the axle-you need a 4 lb mallet hammer to remove it, I leave a lug nut on the tip of the stud and pound it back out of the axle.
For the Ford, ykou remove the tire and remove the plastic retainers on the inner fender to gain access to the washer bottle-you can just remove enough of the inner fender cover to get to the hose by pulling it back in that area.

Power sterring will not line up with other pulls

is it a 4.0l 6 cylinder?
if it is then its not the power steering pump pulley, unless it has been removed and reinstalled incorrectly.
the harmonic balancer has come apart [crank pulley] the rubber insulator between the center and outside parts of the balancer has deteriorated and the outer ring has moved forward or back.look at the inner edge of the balancer were the belt rides, there is a timing marker on the timing cover the inner edge of the balancer should be just a bit under the timing tab.if not or you see rubber sticking out of balancer face then replace balancer
a common problem on 6 cylinder jeeps

Broken power seat - Cannot go forward or back

The power seat uses 3 separate motors for the different functions. Sounds like the one for forward/rearward has failed. I think you may find that Dorman manufacturing sells replacements for less that dealer parts. Look it up online or ask your auto parts store.

I,ve disconected the tie rod end and slid the inner boot down the tie rod but can't figue out how to get the tie rod out?

If it is the inner tie rod you are working on it need to be threaded out on some you can get with a wrench but most you will need an inner tie rod tool. Look at your replacement tie rod you will see the threads and two flat spots that is where the wrench goes. Please rate.

Noisy speedometer

The click you are hearing might be a dry speedometer cable. Applying grease to the inner cable will most likely help this problem. The problem is getting to the cable behind the speedometer/dash panel. You can also get to the cable from under the truck. if you crawl under the truck and look at the smaller end of the transmission, you will see the cable screwed into the tail piece of the transmission. Remove the cable from the transmission and pull the inner cable out of the outer cable. The inner cable is what spins and causes the speedometer to turn. Take regular wheel bearing grease in the palm of your hand and slid the inner cable through the grease then put the inner cable back in the outer cable. When the inner cable gets to the back of the speedometer, you will have to slowly turn the cable and give a slight pressure inward to seat the inner cable into the speedometer.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck

Door trim

Inner or outer? INNER, means removing the cover plates from the switches - they pull off carefully. You can then unscrew the housings. The armrest is secured by 2 screws, it is a little tricky to reach up inside the handle with an 11/16 spanner from below, they do not have to come out completely just enough to pull the armrest up over them.. OUTER, the chrome trim is held at the rear end with nuts the centre ones are pull off and the front one can then be slid out.
