Both point to a problem with a module rather than a sensor. We have an auto-electrician Expert here and hopefully he will be along. The first thing to do is clear the codes and see if they come back. If they do, you need a good auto-electrician, not a mechanic and not a guy from Autozone.
Trouble code P1698 means: No CCD Messages Received From The TCM. This refers to a bad instrument panel. God-Bless! And hope this helps you out. If any guages do not work, tap on the panel to see if it responds. if not, replace it.

Module (TCM or BCM) Probably needs a new PCM (Aka computer or ECU) autocom can help you check your car and clear the fault codes.

p1698 code=No CCD message from TCM or No Transmission Bus Messages It means the person's computer could not connect with yours.it's possible it was his problem if your not having any issues

code P0403 means-EGR solenoid circuit short or open
On the intake close to the EGR there is a solonoid that has wires and vac lines going to it. Make sure the wires are connected and not shorted.
