Hi the first thing I check on for anyelectrical problem is a bad ground connection. Follow the headlight wires as far as you can, even when they disappear into a larger covered loom at random places, maybe even right next to each light, you will find a wire or several attached to ground, could be a inner fender, engine, etc.. sometimes a inner fender ground is just a selftapping screw, It may be rusted out or just loose. Headlights work through relays that are also located in the fuse boxes. I assume you have checked both fuse boxes, in the truck and under the hood, good luck, Chuck

SOURCE: Driver side signals only work when headlights are OFF

What may have happened is either the headlights wiring or the parking lights wiring somewhere along the wiring fused to the left turn signals wiring. Depending on if the turn signals go on when you put the parking lights on or the headlights on.

If the signals come on when you turn on the headlights than you only need to locate the light green wire that comes off the left turn signal harness.

Next follow that wire the entire way back to the firewall looking for another wire fused to that wire as you go.

If there are no signs of this you need to continue looking on the other side of the firewall all the way back to the turn signal and hazard flasher unit which is a black box that connects to a black harness located next to a grey harness behind the knee bolster.

But if the signals come on when you turn on the parking lights than you will also need to check the wiring from the rear left signal and follow that light green wire all the way back to the turn signal and hazard flasher unit.

This should fix your problem, but if not than your problem may lay within the the wiring between the turn signal/hazard switches and the turn signal and hazard flasher unit.

Also you may have a burnt circuit in the junction block. This block is where the light green from the rear left signal and front left signal meet. Don't have a description but if you cannot find it let me know and I will go out to the yard and look myself and let you know.

Passenger side brake light does not work. I

There might be something wrong with the electrical connector behind the panel on the drivers side in the rear... check there with a test light.
Check your light socket in the rear with a test light while having someone pulse the brake up front so you can see if you have brake current there.
If you have brake current at the socket check your ground there and your connections.
The brake circuit in that car is the same on the right left and third stop... you have orange turn signals so the brake lights there are single purpose.
Look for the problem with your test light... you will find it and it is located in the rear of the vehicle... not up front.

Brake light problems on a 2000 chevy lumina

Will your Center High-Mount Stop Light (CHMSL) illuminate when you depress the brake pedal, but the lower/outer lights will not?
-- Do you have to hold the signal lever in a certain spot to get the turn signals to flash?
-- Do you have to hold the signal lever in a certain spot to get the lower/outer brake lights to illuminate?
-- Will the signals work in one direction, but not the other?
If you answered yes to any of the preceeding questions, your turn signal switch is likely malfunctioning.

**One more question before we continue: Is the turn signal lever not "cancelling" (returning to the "off" position) after you make a turn? If this is the case, you have a broken "cancelling spring."

Before you begin disassembly of your steering column, verify the turn signal flasher is not malfunctioning. If your brake lights work fine, but not the signals (either direction,) then it's likely the flasher is burnt out. The flasher itself is located underneath the dash near where the steering column passes through the firewall
