Kia sedona transmission

I got this van at auction and the speedometer never worked, tranny seemed to have intermittent shifting problems, not bad, it shifted smooth but seemed like it didnt know when to shift and i heard it was one of the in/out speed sensors, while i was replacing those today i noticed this mystery sensors wires had been cut, i tried to get it out and broke it in the process, i havent tried to drive it yet with the new in/out sensors installed i figured since i had this mystery sensor out and everything taken apart already i would try to replace it and splice the wires but cant figure out what it is. it plugs up to the top back of the trans. also if it comes down to it will it hurt anything to drive it with out anything installed? keep in mind the wires had been cut to it already, i dont know why, so it hasnt worked since i got it. i will need to buy the sensor and the wiring to it only marking on it are: TCE17 JPT 3F KF13 on the black part the plugs up to it and 007 and 497l on the tan sensor part a google search on these showed up nothing http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag86/nabitnow2012/DSCN0110_zps1dfb6192.jpg http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag86/nabitnow2012/DSCN0114_zps46dce79e.jpg http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag86/nabitnow2012/DSCN0113_zpsfa85aa53.jpg

Free registration, wealth of information.

For the record: if the sensors they're referring to are the input or output shaft speed sensors, they are very easy to find...just remove the air intake box (where the air filter is) and they're right there on top of the transmission. Input sensor is the one closer to the front of the vehicle, output towards the rear.

Where is the voltage regulator on a 2005 kia Sedona LX 3.5l.Also where do the speedometer cable connect to?

Voltage regulator is located in the alternator. You do not have a speedo cable it is a sensor located on the transmission above the passenger CV shaft. There is a revised alternator for your van along with a PCM flash upgrade. You might have to take it to a dealer to get the flash done.

2003 Kia Sedona odometer and speedometer not working, how can I fix?

Usually if both stop working the speed sensor in the transmission has failed, but the check engine light should also be on.

I have 2002 kia sedona and having problem with gear shifting it gets stuck in 1 gear i press on gas untill rpm reaches 4000 then change then goes to second gear in the moring does not do it but i feel...

there is something wrong with your SYNCRONIZER. it is a device located inside your transmission that is responsible for smooth gear shifting at any rpm's. i have not yet heard of syncronizer repair, so it possibly means that you just need to have it replaced. this is not a DIY job. have a transmission mechanic fix your problem

How to move to neutral when the battery is dead

Nearly all modern cars with a column, console or floor-mounted shift knob are equiped with a shifter level lock release button. Look for a small hole or plastic plug, usually to the right side of the shift lever or on rare occassions above or below the shift knob. It should be just large enough to stick the ignition key into the hole and push on the release button. While holding the release button with one hand, have foot on the brake or parking brake set and gently bress the shift knob button and move to neutral. I spent two years working for ADT Automotive at Mid-America Auto Auction and out of over a quarter million automatic transmision cars I have seen, nearly all have this feature.

What was the codes exactly that Auto Zone gave you.??? it might just be a simple wire harness that may have gone loose since you did some work on the speed sensor.
Here are the trouble codes for your car.  Good Luck and get the car scanned again for a more define information.
