SOURCE: chevy silverado 2000 serpentine belt replacement?
Mike, the belt routing should be on a sticker under your hood, these use a spring belt tensioner and it is easiest to us a 3/8 or 1/2 breakover to pull the tensioner back then the belt is easily removed and replaced, please do not rate me at all if it is not a fixya, thats the only reason do this is for my score. Thanks, and merry Christmas.

First - note the routing decal on the underside of the hood. If there is no decal, draw a diagram before removing the old one. Move the tensioner using a breaker bar (if there is a hole for it) or a wrench. Slide the old belt off the pulleys and put the new one on in the same position.

Well you don't have to remove the tensioner. If you look at it, you'll see a 3/8 square hole in the arm of the tensioner. Put a ratchet wrench, or breaker bar in the hole, and you can move the tensioner, it is only spring loaded. The diagram for how the belt laces in should be on the radiator core support. Lace it for the majority around, move the tensioner, and once you have the belt in line, release the tension on the tensioner arm.
