Most likely is the EGR system, but to be sure; check the codes from your Windstar's computer; If you see the light "Check Engine" on; an scanner will help you to get the right codes and find the problem. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) work in certain times, according the pressure and temperature, that's why sometimes runs great and sometimes bad. I hope this helps, take care.

I have a 2002 chevy venture van it runs but backfires thru the exhaust was running fine but not now. Idles really rough use to just do it when the underside got wet

First have the computer scanned . Most part houses will do it for free. The miss fire codes will tell you where to look. It can identify which cylinders are miss firing or not firing at all. Identify the bad cylinders and pull the spark plugs and run a compression test on them to make sure they are ok. No compression means a problem like a burnt valve. Make sure that the firing order of the plugs are correct.

I need an owners manual for my 2000 gmc savanna passenger conversion van ( I do not need the cargo van manual but the manual that shows how to run the tv and all the extras added to it

Search and fix on this one Ray. I have never found any conversion electrical diagrams or routing. From your van to shuttle bus to fed ex trucks. Rv's are bad also... Boats are really bad.

2002 dodge grand caravan will run real sluggish when it is cold outside

Your motor oil may be too thick or carboned up. When you start it, let it run for a while and rev it up to clean out the carbon. Or your fuel injectors may be dirty.

My 2001 venture van rear air is blowing hot air

often on the vans with rear air the air dor acuator goed bad and can no longer switch from hot to cold. also the swich itself will often go bad. this can be caused by sticky fingers damaging the inside of the switch. sometimes a good cleaning in warm water will fix a sticky switch

Bad gas van wont run

undo fuel pipe where it exits the fuel pressure regulater and turn engine over , use bucket and rag to catch pumped fuel , do this for half gallon and reconnect ,, then take spark plugs out and clean with easy start (eather) and replace , should start fine now ,

1994 GMC Safari Oil leaked out for no reason. Put more oil in...look under van and oil is leaking like a water fall. Turn Van off oil leak calms to a trickle. Other than the oil water fall the van runs...

Check the oil filter adaptor bracket. My 1993 Safari had the same problem, and the adaptor bracket and seal were bad. Replacement fixed the leak.
