If the guage needle does not move - the float on the fuel pump assembly is stuck - if it just reads the wrong level - the float arm could have gotten bent putting pump back in the tank
Bad sending unit on the aftermarket pump, (take it back and put in a new one, have had that happen) or could be a bad wire connection, thourougly check your wiring first. (Most aftermarket pumps require you splice in a new electrical connector, check them out good first)

If the sensor wasn't attached to the fuel pump you may have wanted to check that before you put it back up. If the Sensor was attached to the Fuel pump then your next check is the fuses followed by testing the gauge itself.
