With regards to the heater...the XJ6 have a motor the moves hot water in to the car...driver side engine compartment. Occasionally it get stuck. Use a plastic hammer or anything heavy and tape on the motor lightly while the engine runs and with the heater on. Also the to make sure the relay is good. For AC make sure its charged. if you live in a cold area....the Freon leaks after each winter and needs to be recharged

SOURCE: 02 Jaguar S Type - Heater blowing cold air

Has the vehicle overheated recently, if not there is a failure of the Coolant from engine valve controller, that measures flow through the Heater Matrix. Come back with more, as necessary.

There's a temperture valve (usually under the hood). It diverts hot water from the cooling system and directs it to your heater. Follow the hoses. There will be two that go from under the hood and into the fire wall. (Usually on the passenger side. Follow the two hoses from the fire wall to the radiator. Somewhere along the way you'll see the heater valve. Replace it. Good luck.

2008 Jeep Liberty-My heater was barely warm-blowing fine tho. Was told I had a plugged heater core and needed a new one. Had a new heater core put in and then my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air....

I woild be checking the vent controls as if the ac is working and the core was blocked then the air would be cool when the heat was selected but not changing Fixing the heater has resulted in a /c not being good enough to cool the air if the vent is not properly selecting. The point is that if the vent selection is not working properly (vacuum hoses) then the 2 faults will be related.

unplug the heater motor and put a hot wire to it to check the motor if it blows if the wire gets real hot you need to change the heater blower motor. You will probably need to change the heater fan motor resistor. follow the heater fan wire and it will go to the resistor

Heater blower switch seems to have a short . It works some times then it does not. I leave the switch on high,I have no blow, then sometime later a few minutes or days later while driving, the blower kicks...

That's not the definition of a short. A short circuit blows fuses. You're not blowing fuses. An intermittent problem like this is usually caused by a corroded ground connection or corrosion in the electrical connector. Get a wiring diagram and locate the ground and power connectors and clean them

Heater blows cold front and back

You could be low on coolant - better check.

Your heater core might be the problem:

2001 Chevy Tahoe with rear a/c - rear a/c quit

It is most likely not the blower motor. Intermittent operation usually means the blower relay is failing. It should be under the hood in the main fuse box. Try that before you spend a ton of money on bigger parts. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Heater doesn't blow hot air

First check the coolant level in the radiator. Check your heater core hoses on the firewall underneath the hood. Let the car come up to temp. and feel the two hoses. If only one of them is getting hot you may have bad heater core or a bad heater control valve.
