2004 kia sedona will not start. No power to the fuel pump when the key is turned to the on position. It will turn over, but not start. When the key is in the on position and the start relay is pulled, the fuel pump kicks on. Jumped the fuel pump to stay on, turns over but will not start. Any ideas?

SOURCE: i think i need to change the crankshaft position sensor.

yes the crankshaft position sensor can cause all these problems at once. they are fairly simple to change and not a really expensive part if you want to check it though you can unplug it and hook a multimeter to it and check ohms as someone cranks the engine. should see a square wave as in 0 ohs to infinity ohms and repeat.

SOURCE: Intermittent fuel pump engagement when turning key - 2001 Taurus

try cleaning the connector that goes to the fuel pump, sometimes they corrode on inside. If that does not fix, test the wires feeding fuel pump with a multi meter until the condition shows itself again, if voltage drops to zero or very low then wiring problem, if voltage is unchanged with problem and fuel pump is not working and connectors are all clean, try replacement of fuel pump.

I have a kia sedona 2004 2.9 diesel, i punctured the fuel filler neck lost all fuel repaired it and managed to get me home but on way home em light lit wont start now unless i rapid pump primer help

Sounds like you have damaged the fuel tank mounted fuel pickup pump. The pump is cooled and lubricated by the fuel it is immersed in, so when you lost all the fuel you likely ruined the pump.

We have a 2002 KIA sedona that will not start. The starter has been replaced, but that did not solve the problem. It sounds like it isn't getting fuel, or like it might be flooded, but there is no gas...

Multiple possibilities. Is the fuel pump running and the turns of ( this will pressure fuel rail) when the key is turned to run position? EFI does not flood. Could be no spark, crank position senor.

My 2003 kia sedona ran out of gas. Now after adding gas i can not get it to start. HELP

You might have a fuel pump problem after running out of gas. Fuel pumps use gasoline to stay cool, and when there is no gas they can overheat. Also, a good way to tell if your fuel pump is running, is to turn the key to the "run position" ( right before the car starts) and listen for a humming/buzzing sound coming from the fuel tank.

My 2003 kia sedona is turning off on me while im driving im not sure what it can be can you help me.. it turns on after a little while but then it does it again

When it shuts off turn the ignition key on without starting the vehicle and listen for the pump to run. It should run for a few seconds before shutting down. If it does not replace the fuel pump relay. Also replace the fuel filter if you have not done so in the last 36,000 miles. You may end up with a fuel pump that is also failing and will need replacement.

2004 Kia Sedona keeps stalling

Your problem sounds like you have a bad crankshaft position sensor. You will not get a trouble code (check engine light). This will cause the vehicle to suddenly stall. You cannot change the idle on this vehicle, or any FI modern vehicle contrary to a previous post. It is controlled by the engine management computer by way of an idle air control circuit on the throttle body.

Kia sedona won't start

Turn key to on position and listen for fuel pump to turn on, if not check fuel pump fuse and relay. May also be crankshaft sensor. Maybe not getting any spark.
