1. Make sure the coolant system is full
2. If it is, you need to replace your heater core underneath the dash.

sounds like your ignition timing is REALLY REALLY late, should be 10 degrees BTDC. also check the air filter as this could cause poor acceleration. those 5M-GE/7M-GE engines also want premium gas (91 pump octane or better) they run horribly on lower grade gasolines.

Are you getting fuel? Is the pump coming on? Do you have 12volts to the pump? Did you test the old pump to see if it was indeed bad and the cause of the problem?

When I get a problem like that, I usually start with replacing the fuel filter and checking the fuel pump pressure. But most of the time, it ends up being a crack in the plastic coil or distributor cap that is wider when it is hot than when it is cold.
