I need to find out if a 4.8 liter will fit in a 2005 chevy Silverado crew cab 1500
SOURCE: heater core on a 2003 Chevrolet pickup 4 wheel drive crew cab
if you have air conditioning you will need to take it to a garage and recover the r134, you will need to remove the dash to allow you to remove the heater box, it's an ugly job, I've done a dozen or so and can do it in about 6 hours now, the first time it was closer to 11 hrs, good luck
SOURCE: how do i change my upper and lower ball joints
Jack up the car remove wheel remove brake caliper and remove rotor rent a ball joint press remover and installer tool (at schucks you get money back when you bring it back) if it's 4 wheel drive you will have to remove the axle shaft next pull the snap ring off on the top side and put tool on the lower tie rod end and press out, next do the top press out top joint next sand ball joint sockets so it is clean lube with WD-40 next press in top ball joint and then lower ball joint. In this order otherwise you will have to un install the top ball joint by removing the pin then nut.
SOURCE: Needing to replace the power steering pump on a
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery,(WARNING if you have the TheftLock Radio, make the system is off before doing anything that requires the battery to be disconnected)
Remove the radiator upper fan shroud,
Remove the serpentine belt,
Place a drain pan under the hoses to catch the fluid and remove the and remove the hoses from the hard lines coming out of the pump, making a note of which is which, stuff the end of a clean rag into each hose to prevent anything from getting inside it,
Using a pulley removal tool, remove the pulley from the pump,
Remove the four bolts from the rear of the pump( V8 has 4 bolts,V6 has 2 bolts ) and lift the pump out.
Installation,
Place the pump in it's mounting bracket and install the bolts, tighten them to 37 ft lbs.
Connect the hoses and tighten securely,
Press the pulley on the shaft using a pulley installation tool,DO NOT HAMMER IT ON,, the proper position is the front of the hub flush with the end of the shaft,
Install the serpentine belt,
Install the upper fan shroud,
Fill to the cold mark the correct of NEW fluid,
Re-connect the battery cable.
Bleed the system as follows,
Wheels straight ahead,
Start the engine and allow it to fast idle,
Check for leaks,
Re-check the fluid lever and add more if needed to keep it up to the Cold mark,
Move the steering wheel from side to side several times WITHOUT hitting the stops, this will work the air out of the system, keep adding fluid if needed during this process,
When the fluid level stops going down the system should be free of any trapped air,
Set the wheels straight ahead again and allow the engine to run for 5-10 minutes before shutting it down, re-check the fluid level,
Road test the vehicle and drive it long enough to get it up to normal operating temperature,
Re-check fluid level and fill it to the Hot level.

SOURCE: 2008 Chevy Silverado power lock problem
we have a 08 1500 crewcab chevy that all the power door locks worked excepted the drivers door. We started to look at that door power lock actuater and now the passenger power door lock does not work. Could the trouble be something other than actuaters?
