are you getting power to the starter , no do not change anything else , should have not changed that , stuff , do not just change parts . when you turn the key , is the dash lighting up, are your headlights coming on , if not and you have a good battery and starter , ck the wire on the back of the alternator , and make sure it is hot should be hot all the time , I mean 12 volts, the red wire , how is your ground wire , if you are not getting any power with the key on and the battery is good and the starter is good and you cked all the wires to make sure none broke , could be you ignition switch , but have to know exactly what it is doing with the key being turned to start . Ifyour car is an automatic it will have a neutral safety switch or sometimes called a trans range sensor. Also some cars have a starter relay in the distribution/fuse box under the hood as well as check the diagram on the lid of the box for a starter fuse.
Try wiggling the key and tapping near the ignition and see.If the Key starts turning in the ignition. Also spray wd-40 in the ignition switch hole and let the wd-40 spray liquid remain in there for 30 minutes then see if you can turn the key in ignition.Try this wd-40 spray couple of times,if still the same problem then, the ignition has to be replaced. Also the keys are to be reprogrammed by the dealer.Without getting your car key reprogrammed they will not work with new ignition lock cylinder. This problem is very common in ford focus, many other users too have noticed this and are very disappointed with the ford service due to this problem.Click this link directly to see the same problem with other ford focus users;---http://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Focus/2003/accessories-interior/key_wont_turn_in_the_ignition.shtml
