SOURCE: looking for fuel filter on 1990 corvette

The filter is underneath on the passenger side behind the front wheel. Release the pressure first, or you will get sprayed with gas.

SOURCE: 1998 corvette c5 has miss at idle

Try cleaning your Mass air flow sensor. When the MAF sensor gets dirty, it can cause your engine to run slightly lean and make sure your engine is running at normal operating temperature with a good thermostat.
At idle, if the MAF is slightly dirty and giving the wrong signal to the PCM. There is a good chance that your engine have a lean condition enough to cause it to have a miss. It's may just be in the perimeters that it will not set a check "service engine light" on, but will cause it to miss.
Start with that and post us back, be glad to help and thank you for using fixya.

SOURCE: I have a 1998 Corvette

I had the same problem with my 98 Corvette with 69K miles. Mine did exactly as you described soon after I purchased it in November of this year. I went online and read posts of others with the same problem and how to try and fix it. At 1/4 tank add 2 bottles of Chevron Techron cleaner and fill up with good name brand premium fuel. The Techron cleaner will clean the sulfur residue and other contaminants off of the fuel level senors in each of the left and right hand side gas tanks (C-5's have two gas tanks on either side connected by a transfer pump with each side having it's own fuel level sensor). I did this and so far after nearly 3 tankfuls there's been no recurrence of the problem. However, if this doesn't help then the alternative is to replace some if not all of the components mentioned earlier. I got a $1300+ repair quote from my favorite garage prior to applying the above fix. I'm no mechanic and I may have some of the actual part names incorrect. I hope this helps you out and fixes your problem! BTW, you can also use a full can of SeaFoam cleaner in lieu of the Chevron Techron cleaner. I used the two bottles of Chevron Techron the first tankful and used SeaFoam in the second tankful. I plan to use a bottle of SeaFoam every 3-5K miles to help keep this problem at bay and keep my fuel system cleaner!

Low mileage, 10-12 mpg hwy. replaced plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel pressure regulator, air filter.

Considering the age of your truck I'm also thinking about the wear on all rotating parts. The more rust and/or lack of grease such as in the transfer case, the more resistance. Even rusty brakes that don't release as soon as you let off the pedal makes a difference. I'm also considering the amount of engine sludge, and how the transmission is shifting. If it is too slow to engage then it hangs at the top of every gear and burns more fuel.

Lose in momentum or power when motorway driving. Seems to happen between 70-85. No Engine lights or even a hange in the rev counter... Even my girlfriend noticed it when she drove it.

don't ignore simple maintenance issues which can cause minor problems like this. namely a filthy air filter, or restricted fuel filter.

How do you replace a fuel tank on a 2002 cavalier 2.2L

drain the exisiting tank down or run the vehicle to almost empty, disconnect the fuel line at the tank if possible while still hanging to body, if not, remove straps(this is why you want it almost empty) and gently lower the tank down and remove any remaining fuel lines you may need special fuel line disconnect tools to remove the fuel lines and possibly a repair kit to fix the very common fuel filter steel line rusting solid to the fuel filter.

Not getting fuel in my 1990 GMC Sirra pick up

there is a in line fuel filter under the truck between the tank end motor. try replacing it first.its about 10 dollars. if thats not it, take the fuel line loose, before it goes into the filter and let it hang down freely, try starting the truck with the line off. if no fuel comes out of the line, the fuel pump is not working. this can be a bad pump, wiring problem or fuse. let me know, i will try to help. www.cory.eblen@yahoo.com
