Runs good forout an hour then shuts off and won't start for hours,thruns good again plese advise what i can check.

sounds to me like you may have some trash in your fuel lines or tank try flushing your fuel lines and possibly take the tank off and make sure there is nothing that may be inside blockin the flow of fuel to the engine if that doesn't work check your fuel pump it could be something as simple as needed a good fuel injection cleaner or something more serious like a blockage in the line itself

sound like fuel pump you put gas in it it runs.its not pump gas to the fuel system.change fuel filter if it been a while.check fuel pressure.

check the fluid levels in the battery and if your battery is pushing 4years old, i would purchase a new one anyway. check the security of the terminal post the may be slightly loose.

there can be a few things wrong.
1. do you press the gas pedal at all before you start? because that floods the engine
2. a clogged fuel filter can cause that to happen, it wont start the first few times you try it then it will after wards.
3. your fuel pump could be on its way out.
4. you might have starter problems

thats pretty much in order from cheapest (first one doesn't cost anything at all, just dont press the gas pedal) to most expensive
get it checked out, they wil know better when they see it and they'll be able to run some diagnostics

try a new catalytic converter. Had this on a 2002 Malibu.
