Check to see if any of the wires have a single wire running off of it to the body somewhere, or attached to a bolt on the intake somewhere. This will indicate that it's a grounded wire, which means the battery wire attached to it will be your negative wire.
Your positive will run to a bunch of other wires, and into modules and starter and alternator and other electrical products.

You have an incorrect O2 sensor. It will not work. A correct sensor will plug in without any problem. If you bought the sensor at a parts store, you need to return it, and exchange it for the right part.

It's a '99 Elantra, have you ever replaced the timing belt? It is a belt not a chaing, so it is very much should have the belt changed. After 13 years if you haven't done the belt yet now appears to be the time to change. I have an '05 and we changed it over a year now.

Call your service dept on the phone as I have heard they dont use the code...better call dealership for free and find out.
