Old post.
but....
The vacuum
pump is located in the front of engine (internal) and
is driven from the crankshaft gear (Fig. 14). Disconnect
the hose and check for minimum vacuum from
the pump. Refer to Group 5,
chapter 14, page 9 FSM

My 2009 i30 diesel heater only blows cold air changed coolant leave it running for 1 hour and still cold air

One thought. Diesel engines do not produce vacuum. Since the heat and AC controls are vacuum actuated, and you have no heat, the main flap over the heater core is not being opened to allow the heat to come into the cab. Meaning it's getting no vacuum. Check that all vacuum lines are connected from the vacuum pump, then check that the vacuum pump is working. If the vacuum pump is not pulling vacuum, there's your problem. Makes sense, huh?

How to change vacuum pump on 1990 dodge 250 diesel

The vacuum pump in the Dodge W150-350 Cummins Diesel is integral with the power steering pump on the driver's side of the engine. remove it as one unit from the accessory drive unit. Then you have to press the gear off the shaft to separate the power steering pump from the vacuum pump

3.1 TD. After I had the aircon accumulator repaired, the brake pedal is hard to push but is not very affective. What can be wrong?

Hi Because your jeep is a diesel there is a vacuum pump driven by the engine which supplies
Vacuum to the brake servo unit ( Thats the big circular thing that the brake master cylinder is attached to )
The problem could be the pump, the servo,or simply a vacuum leak ( between the pump and servo )
you would normally be able to hear a vac leak.
If you are able to pull the hose off the servo hold your thumb over the end of it and you should feel strong suction
If you apear to have good suction then the problem is the servo itself (leaking vac internally )
I hope your problem turns out to be a simple one good luck

2004 JEEP LIBERTY DIESEL ENG - BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM

diesels do not have conventional vacuum operated brake boosters. i am not sure what chrysler calls there system, but i believe it is similar to the gm hydroboost system, in which case pressure is created by a pump integral to the power steering pump gives you your assist, and fed to an accumulator on the fluid booster near the master. be very careful when tinkering when these systems, as they can have very high pressures in them even when the car is not running. are you experiencing any steering issues at the same time? check your fluid levels (PS fluid will effect operation) and all the associated hoses and lines, go from there. good luck!

I have a 2001 F250 Superduty 7.3l Diesel. When I

I had a problem with vacuum in my F250 diesel. It had a new vacuum pump but would kick out of cruise control every time the vacuum pressure dropped. It turned out to be the vacuum reserve cannister had holes in it.

Seems you reach a tipping point and then all the vacuum systems mess up. You might want to check the reserve cannister and any vacuum servo your 4x4 might have. You can check most of the vacuum stuff with the engine OFF using a vacuum pump. You could have a leaking vacuum pot operating the ductwork. Check your diesel vacuum pump for output and loose belts.

2000 jeep cherokee sport 2.5 diesel wont start. No diesel to injectors

turn ignition to on and see if it you can hear the fuel pump.
if yes check for blocked line/filter or leak somewhere
if no hard wire fuel pump and see if car starts.
if yes then your not getting power to your fuel pump, probably due to immobiliser but possibly due to faulty wiring.
if no then replace fuel pump.
