No such thing as a "starter belt". If they are refering to the belt that routes around the alternator, part of the power supplying system...then yes. But, this is only if you have 2 seperate belts. A serpentine belt is one entire belt that routes over all of the pulleys. Easy way to check, look at your belt. If you see one, it's a serpentine. If you see two, you have accessory belts. But, you should have a serpentine belt....1 belt.

Your motor has one belt, a serpentine...

Never heard of a starter belt so I am going to assume that serpentine belt is the same.

Car lose power, new battery, now car will not start, 98 oldsmobile regency 1989

Sounds like you have more than one problem.
The seat belt light is not on because of the door.
Are you saying the serpentine belt comes off the engine pulleys ?
And have you checked the battery and starter for voltage ? You need 12 volts at the battery and at the starter, and on the small wire from the starter to the key switch.

Blowing starter relay fuse in 2004 ford ranger

It could mean that your starter wiring fields are shorted or it could mean that the starter is trying to turn your engine and something has the flywheel locked and can't be turned. Suggest you take off the serpentine belt and see if you can rotate the engine with a large wrench (CW). If you can then it is probably the starter, but while you have the serpentine belt, suggest you hit the starter and see what happens.

Starter engauged and then it stopped all of a sudden took it off and checked it works fine then same thing

Can you rotate your engine by hand? Make sure you take the serpentine belt off first. If you can't reotate the engine with a socket wrench your starter won't be able to either.

If you can rotate it, then you might have a bad place in the starter winding that only shows up when under load, which most places can test on the bench.

Is the serpentine belt and the timing belt the same thing?

Your serpentine belt and timing belt are not the same thing. If your serpentine belt breaks, you will lose your alternator, your cooling system, air conditioning, and your power steering. In turn, it will leave you stranded in a very short period of time.
