There are 3 main reasons that your speedometer will suddenly stop working. 1 blown fuse. Fix: check and replace fuse. 2, speed sensor failed. Fix: buy a new fuse and change. 3, speed sensor unplugged or a broken wire between the sensor and computer.this includes the plug in. Fix: check the plug in to be sure it is clean and fully connected, trace the wires to the computer and check continuity of the wires)There are 3 main reasons that your speedometer will suddenly stop working. 1 blown fuse. You have a ground problem. Since it starts battery to engine ground is good. You need to check or add ground wires from the battery to the body, from the engine to body, and I put an extra ground wire from the transmission to the engine.
Hitting can damage many systems under the car. Check the following:
- One of the Constant Velocity (CV) Joints may have slipped out of the transmission due to which the car could not move even in any gear.
- Check the transmission for any leakage. If so, repair the leakage, top up the transmission oil to the specified level and check to see if it works.
- Check the transmission control cable.
- If the problem persists consult an authorized service personnel.
sounds like a bad motor or transmission mount try to step on the gas hard and release it quickly while in park do you feel the same thing if you do a motor mount is no good you'll see the engine twisting or raising up on one side the reason why I think its happening at slow speed is the transmission shifts gears and this lets the motor settle back down if not try with no body behind you quick acceleration then wait 5 seconds and hard stop when the car is stopped and you feel a bang from underneath the transmission mount is no good
Never heard of this switch in the fuelpump circuit. Remove the fuel cap and listen if you can hear the pump when you switch ignition on. The pump will run for 3 seconds when you don't start. Hitting the pothole can have dislodged many things, from relays and connectors to a line.
Sounds like what you are feeling is reffered to as a stick/slip condition in the drive shaft yoke. What this means when you hit brakes back of truck goes up some causing slip yoke to slide out of transmission some. it sticks there and when you take off it pops back in causing a bump feeling. remove driveshaft and grease the splines of yoke with a light coat of grease.
If the speedometer is working but not the odometer it's in the speedometer it's self. replacing the speedometer cluster is the easiest their available on ebay or your local salvage yard.
what happens is the trip odometer wears and sticks, theres a small motor on a circuit board with a plastic sun gear, inside the speedometer housing. it drives both the odometer and the trip odo
the teeth strip off the sun gear and odometer stops.
