I have 2008 GMC Acadia.when sitting at a light or driving in town the a/c will cut off and the a/c light begins to flash and the air starts blowing hot. I notice one fan is running and the fan in front of the engine is nit running. Could it be the dual fan assembly causing the problem? Or has anyone came across the same problem?

Locate the starter and connect test light to the small wire from the ignition and other end to ground.start the engine and the light will go ON.if the light go OFF and the noise you hear noise the starter is bad.

reduced engine power means there is a problem with the electronic throttle control .this will shut off traction control off .
Were there any DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes read from the PCM - engine computer . No crank REDUCED ENGINE POWER case study 13 GMC Acadia Part 1
check the water pump. it may be leaking out relief hole on bottom of water pump while running. it could have failed just before you stopped for lunch! good-day but if pump is ok while it runs. put a new thermostat in it.
Are there any check engine lights on the vehicle? Is it dinging with the key in and the vehicle started and all the doors closed? Once I have more information I can assist you further. If you have enough coolant in there and no damage was done from it overheating too much/ too long it should be fine to drive. Thanks, Lee
what have you checked? coolant level ok? is it overheating pushing coolant out ,or just high on the gauge?you really need to provide more info. with the a/c on or off? how quickly after a cold start? driving down the road or sitting at the drive thru?......these have had problems with the fan clutch.
