SOURCE: My 2003 Renault Megane Scenic 1.9dci expression won't start

The funny sound you mentioned must be identified, could it be the starter trying badly to turn. Here the fault of your battery drain is that the glow plugs take a lot of current and it must NOT come ON when the starter motor runs. Hence the fault could be your GLOW plug relay unit with the auto cut off timer that is faulty. If you keep draining the battery to a lower threshold level , there is every possiblity that the battery life will be lowered . I hope the present battery rating is the recommended Amp/hr rating to give the extra run for the morning start. Next area of suspicion is the starter motor itself , it could have a bad commutator or a bush. It will be good to have a clean up and service. Finally check for excessive drain on your battery with a current check in series for the drain current when the switch if off. If the current exceeds the limit disconnect each circuit to confirm. hope this advice helps. good day

SOURCE: i have renault scenic megane

hallo
1.5 or 1.9 dci does not engage glow plugs until -4?C or below. so, check if fuel does not drain (in the morning). or if batery is week. try start with cabels (jump start) and see if start sooner.
another thong is if EGR valve always stays open (stick)
hope it helps

How do my glow plus work we you turn key

when you turn the key on a light on dash goes on and the glow plug relay supplies power to the glow plugs for a certain amount of time, then the dash light goes off and you start the engine.

How are you supposed to start a l200 on a 04 plate properly

the owners hand book will have the starting procedure but as a rule with a diesel you wait for the glow plug light to go out, depress clutch , as with all cars depressing the clutch reduces the energy required to turn engine over as the gearbox is disengaged, and start engine , there should be no need to use the accelerator to get the engine to start, hope this helps

E46 330d sport, manual, 2003 (204bhp) Engine wont turn over, all ignition lights on and battery is strong, car will start if bump started (rolled downhill then let clutch out) then you can turn it off and...

This is likely having to do with the starting circuit. Have the glow plugs and circuit tested. The glow plugs can easily be tetsed for "proof positive" failure. Let me know what else I can do. Great little cars.

Tried to start 2004 f250 with out glowplugs now it wont start. checked fuse still wont start

glow plug light and glow plug are not on same system
check at gow plug conection (top of valve cover both side
follow from relay front valve vover right side silver box)
power 12 volts on all 4 wires in both conector left and right
if not replace relay if 12 volts relay ok (test light clip on ground)
then check glow plug (test light clip on positive ) touch wires going
to glow plug should light up if ok (quick test ) if any fail replaced
if all seems ok look at the oil injection system most common
problem with these motors I have yet to replaced a glow plug or relay

Car wont start when engine is cool

sounds like a glow plug problem,if it starts o.k. when warm, but not when cold, does it smoke a lot when trying to start it cold,if so i would say your glow plugs are either burned out or theres no power to them when you turn on the key,do you see the glow plug light on the dash,it may light, but that doesn,t mean the glow plugs are getting power

Manual VW Passat 93 wont start

I had the same problem with my 93 Passat diesel, good lights and glow plugs but no effort to turn over. I could hear the relay kicking in the dash (by the drivers window.) I decided to cross the starter terminals and then discovered that the wire was corroded under the solenoid and into the body of the starter. I got a replacement starter and it rolls over fine. Now if I could get ti to pick up fuel... hahahaha
