You'll probably have to let the dealer re-program the theft deterrent processor

Your key fob is broken most likely and will need replaced at the dealer. The vehicle and new key will need to be there for programming. The security system is not reading the key.

The door security has nothing to do with the jeep no starting. Check your electrical leads and also terminal leads that run to the battery. If you can, get your battery and your alternator tested to see if theyre any good. If your dash indicates the following while driving;" Transmission Overheat", then, with the engine running, check your transmission fluid level. If the transmission dipstick indaictes that the amount of fluid is low add maybe a quart to it. if you do this again and you find thats its doing the same thing, then there might be a couple of things wrong;

- 1. You may have a leak somewhere. Check your lines and check around the transmission pan. If you find a leak around the pan, than that means that you need a transmission filter kit. This includes a pan gasket and filter.

- 2. If you lift the hood and look over to the left (standing at the front of the car) and find the reserve tank to have a dark color liquid in there, open the top and see what color it is. If it smells and looks like Transmission fluid, then that means you have a busted radiatior. If you open the radiatior cap and look down into it and see the that the color of the fluid is a pepto bismal- looking color, then its deffinatley time for a radiator replacement and flushing of old fluid out of the system.

-3. Transmission is burning up gears and needs to be replaced. i dont know what jeep was thinking when they put a three speed transmission in a car of that size that idles high beacuse of the gears, when it should be a five speed that idles lower being thats a bigger size car.

-4. Check your fuel lines and your fuel filter.

-5. The sensor that sends a signal to the number one cylinder to fire may have gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Replace the battery and check the charging system after replacing battery.

SOURCE: what type of transmission fluid should i use on my

General motors Dextron 3 is usually sufficient. If you want to know that for sure check the transmission's dip stick it should be stamped on it.

SOURCE: have a 2008 jeep grand cherokee laredo put key in

This sounds like a bad chip in the key, try a spare key, if it starts with spare key then key is bad, if it doesnt start then you will need reprograming

On a 2000 grand jeep cheroke it wont start and noise xoming from alarm system box is there a fuse i can take out so i can start it to make it home

no , removing fuses (left out) never caused stock jeeps to run.
nice guess though.
you need to read your operators guide.
it shows you how to read the cluster lights and see why
car will not start.
is the SKIM , immoblizer active (light glows, saying the key is wrong)
did you try both key fobs, (car had 2 new) never ever run cars with IMMO with one key or you WILL be stranded.. now or soon, or later.
pick one. what does it matter when, why stack deck against self?

sorry if you r manual is missing that too is a deck stack event.
GET THE BOOK.
Or google search all day for one
or post photo of dash cluster key on, in color.

keep in mind we are blind here, and we can see what your are doing either.

Wont start

Usually the error in the odometer area of the dash is caused by a serial data communication error. This problem is keeping the skim"security immobilizer" from telling the PCM that the vehicle is not being stolen. Most times I would recommend the dealer for communication and security related problems.

03 jeep grand cheroke 4.0 2x4 = no start with new battery installed. No lights on the dash at start

I would start at the key switch and check for power there.
It's possible the switch is not turning completely on or to start.

look for diagrams for fuse block, and relay center and power distribution center

fuse location is on front passenger side's side of dash (open door) OR underneath the dash, kick panel
the power distribution center is under hood.

I have a 05 grand cheroke the guage cluster turns off and on acts very speratic and it wont shift then after a min or 2 it goes back to normal now it has no power at all and wont start nothing turns on

The dash is suposed to be grounded to the body and firewall Simple way to check is to re-ground it using a long set of jumpers....connect only the negative lead to the battery negative post and connect the other end to the metal cross bar at the bottom of the dash that runs all the way across. If it's not grounding properly, the items that are acting up will return to normal. Don't forget...it could also be a faulty ignition switch or other main connection between battery and all systems.
