It is probably your engine coolant. Check your coolant level in the resevoir. If it is low it has to be going somewhere, meaning you have a leak. Take a quick look under the car and in the engine compartment to see if you see or smell any coolant. If not, open the pressure caps on the radiator and check under the cap, MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS COOL AND SYSTEM HAS NO PRESSURE BEFORE OPENING THIS CAP. If it has a brown slime inside it is possible you have a leaking intake gasket. I have had a Chevy V-6 that had this problem and have heard of others that have had this same problem. I hope it is something simple like a loose hose clamp.

There is a resistor board up above the blower motor that can go bad. It controls the voltage to the blower when you select the numbers.

If the AC fails to provide cold when it is turned on have the AC system checked for a low charge of refrigerant due to a leak in the system. If it islow it is likely the AC compressor front shaft seal is leaking.

Check the actuator motor on the heater it controls the doors that direct the heat and switches to direct the ac air as well. It is located inside the car in the center or end of the heater box.

Radiator, fill up the overflow reservior to the appropriate level with a mix of 50% coolant/ 50% water.

The air condition seems to stay on all the time. is there a way to turn off the air?

Turn the switch off on fan and the cold and hot knob to off slide the slide bar to the left or down depending on your configuration.
