Sometimes it starts and runs fine. But after I drive it a few miles it dies and is hard to restart. I have to push down on the gas to get it going again. If I hold down on the gas and put it in gear it will run great with gas opened up.

I had this problem and I replaced the mass air flow sensor and it runs great, was told by my mechanic it is a hard problem to diagnose. I just unplugged the maf sensor and the car ran better so i replaced it.

Hi:
to help figure out what is going on with your car, the first thing to do is get the code downloaded to see what the cause is. A local auto parts store, such as auto zone, can download your codes and get you in the ballpark as to what failed. If they have a parts recommendation, give it a shot...

You need to replace the TCC solenoid under the side cover pan of the transmission. You can also unplug the wires that go to the transmission in the front. After that it will not go into overdrive but it will stay running at stop lights untill you have it repaired.

Second guess would be, oxygen sensors, they might fail and cause your computer to receive the wrong signal thus making it feed MORE fuel than needed or LESS fuel than what it needs, check it out, let us know if we were close.
ngine stalling issue at low speeds
This problem
is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and
throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner from NAPA or
Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake
while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will
try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30
minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and
disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base
idle control
