How do I get the MP3 player to work in a 2007 Nissan Quest?

I have a 2007 Nissan Quest and I want to play my MP3 player on my stereo but I can get the radio to recognize or see the MP3 player. What size jack does it take to plug it into the AUX plug? What do I do to get my radio to play the songs on the MP# player?

You said CAN , i bet you meant CAN'T or CAN NOT. right?
the AUX port is just a line input, analog audio input,
it dont know MP3 .
it only amplies the analog audio found there.
you connect any device, to AUX. push play on the device.
then put car radio in to AUX input mode and play. the audio.
that is all there is to it.
the external device does all the heavy lifting, reading a file, and decoding it (mp3 decode) and then sends raw analog audio out.

the cable is sold and radioshack, or walfart or many other stores,
Target, most MP3 players, come with this cable,
they use mini phone plugs, stereo, type,. (3 contacts)

What is the size of the plug at the stereo end? I think the one I am trying to use is to small so it's not recognizing the MP3 player. Very frustrating ....

ok in the stereo plug H3LL thing, there are like 3 sizes, 1920 phone plugs not, then mini and micro. mini started 1960s with first 3 buck transistor radios. then micro. why not just go to radioshack and show them.? do you own a set of calipers.? id bet not. but the size is in mm. (milimeters) see wiki?

2.5mm , 3.5mm and 3pin and 4 pin. you must find out what yours is. seems its 3.5mm huh, and buy that. but there are 2 ends to any cable and both must be right. at the player and the Radio. both diameter and pin count. (at the least)

if i had the full spec, on both radio and mp3 player, then we could answer. I have no idea what 3 radios are in the quest or even if its stock radio. why not drive to car-audio store and ask for help. it takes EYES on to fix.

SOURCE: Replace 2005 Nissan altima stereo receiver

Try radio shack, or stereo sales/installation place for ready to go plug adapter. For a few bucks, it saves headaches, and butchering the wiring in case you want to re-install old one later when trading in or selling the car.

SOURCE: 2007 nissan maxima will not load or eject CD's...or even play the

Hi, this is a common issue within car CD changers. the load motor go through lots of trauma during the life span that i usually 3 to 5 years. the load motor operates everything in the changer. it works the load tray and spinning of the disc as well. when this motor is out, the changer will be rendered useless. replacing the load motor will fix this issue or, you can just purchase a new changer and save a lot of money.

I'm going to send you exploded view of the glove box and the in cabin micro filter cover illustration. Remove the two upper screws on the glove box and carefully pry metal clips loose.
Disconnect glove box lamp electrical connector. Do not let glove box assembly hang from glove box lamp harness.
Remove three lower screws and remove damper clip from glove box door. Separate glove box housing and passenger instrument lower panel.
Remove three screws and remove in cabin micro filter cover.
Remove in cabin micro filters from front heater and cooling unit assembly.
Note When installing two new in cabin micro filters ensure that the filters are facing in the direction indicated by the direction arrow for the airflow. Direction arrow is printed on side of in cabin micro filters.

Honda Accord - AUX Connectivity/Supports

The AUX cables are just an input to the stereo, and it doesn't matter what format your music player uses. If you do need to change the cables to accept a different mp3 player, all of this is usually done in the wiring on the back of the stereo. hope this helps you.

Play my mp3 in 2006 Nissan Quest?

I was told the in dash radio unit will not play mp3's. as far as the dvd player, if you have the entertainment system i can't say. I do have two solutions for you.
1) the in dash cd player (mine is a 6 disc cd player) will not play mp3's at 128 bit compression, but for some reason or another I burnt an mp3 disc using the 256 bit compression, still smaller than the standard mp3 comparable cd quality, and unknowingly tried it in the cd player. The nissan quest played it. So it sounds as if the cd player is picky about how low quality of an mp3. 128 is a common reasonable quality. However, I was able to squeeze about 15 tracks on a 256 bit mp3 disc.
2) the in car dvd unit. If your unit is of the standard type, under the seat or mounted elswhere in the car, you could replace it. Dvd players sell for around $125.00+ and will play everything under the sun. reconnecting is not the biggest challenge neither.
& 3) You could purchase an additional hardwired device which allows you to plug in any audio device and play the sound through the Nissans sound system. The device into plugs directly into your wiring loom behind your factory radio. The best part is that the nissan system is already set up to receive this device. It will play through the sat1 or sat2 buttons. I searched and purchased the device online.
i had installed that before learning of the mp3 deal.
well good luck.
Sincerely, Flash
