Look closely at the cover. You will see a small slot. Insert a small flat blade screwdriver, and pry it off. Very easy..

SOURCE: Where is my falsher relay located? I have a 1998

With your key on give a left or right turn signal. Try to listen and pinpoint the clicking of the turn signal flasher. Once you locate the turn signal flasher, your hazard flasher will look just like this and should be mounted nearby, typically next to it. The flasher simply pulls out and the new one just pushes in

SOURCE: 1995 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder runs hot

Hi,

Firstly, ensure you have the required 'mixture' of coolant/water (must have required coolant).

Second, I would recommend you re-test all the cooling system sensors again (make sure they're within specifications), in case a new one is faulty.

Third, ensure the new thermostat was of the correct temp setting (they all differ), so that it opens at the required time. Most cooling systems operate within 90 - 100degC.

Fourth, make sure the radiator (and associated hoses) aren't blocked.

If your temp gauge is reading higher than normal, but NOT in the danger zone...then this can be considered normal (especially if you've replaced with new components) and nothing to be concerned about.

However, if the temp gauge IS in the danger zone....then this suggests the coolant is not flowing through the cooling system properly.

If all above components test ok, then it's possible your water pump may not be pumping enough volume.

Cheers,

Testimonial: "I appreciate your help...Maybe I should just relace the water pump, that would be the last thing that I would need to replace."

2002 Toyota Solara fans not coming on

I think the temperature sensor and the coolant fan switch are two different sensors. One tells the temperature and passes it to the ECM which passes that information to the gauge, the other works via a relay to turns the fans on and off. A fan spinning freely is not a test. You need to connect it to 12 volts and watch it run.

Temp sensor on 1998 toyota tacoma 3400

The engine coolant temperature sensor is usually located on the thermostat housing. This sensor controls the readings of the coolant temperature gauge in your vehicle when the ignition switch is ON .Here's a link to the sensor. REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Drain the coolant from the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring protector from the brackets.
  3. Disconnect the sensor wire.
  4. Using a 19mm deep socket, remove the sensor and gasket.
To install:
  1. Apply a thin coat of Loctite or equivalent to the switch. By hand, carefully thread the switch into the engine. If resistance is felt at all, remove the switch and inspect the threads for any damage. Continue to install the switch. Once installed, tighten to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  2. Connect the sensor wiring.
  3. Install the engine wire protector to the brackets.
  4. Refill the coolant. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Gs300 coolant is bubbling in resevoir, but temp is fine ?

Get coolant temp sensor checked.

Get the coolant pressure tested, its definitely leaking coolant. You will need to get the coolant running line.

Pressure test will help you to know from where exactly coolant/refrigerant is getting leaked.

ELectic fans cut off and on what causes that on a 98 toyota camry

It is normal for the electric fan to cut off and on while the vehicle is running, there is a sensor in th radiator controlling the fans, switching them in when it senses the coolant temperature is too hot. The fans then run until the temperature reaches normal range again and the fans switch off. It is also normal for the fans to cut off and on with the air conditioning running. If they are coming on at any other time, such as when the engine is not up to half way on the gauge and the air con is off, there is likely a problem with the sensor or relay.

Follow the hose from the bottom of the radiator to the point where in reaches the engine block. That's where the thermostat is located and the Engine Coolant Temperature switch is there too.

Coolant fan switch

it's hooked up to the temperature sensor. if you don't get a temp light on, the sensor might be bad. it's usually located where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine. also check your thermostat.
