Where is the bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor location 2011 toyota camry SE

  • Cee Dee Feb 09, 2018

I have a 2011 Toyota Venza that had a p0158 code bank 2 Sensor 2 and I found that it's located following the front manifold you have the one at the top then if you follow that down you have another one that's bank 2 Sensor 2 the first one is bank 2 sensor 1 if you follow the exhaust coming out of the back by the firewall that's Bank One sensor 1 and Bank 2 Sensor 2 is located on the exhaust pipe near radiator and oil pan the part store ask me was it right or left but looking at it I only see top and bottom so that sensor 1 and the bottom is Sensor 2 the best thing to do is to take it off and take it to the auto parts store to match it up what has a female end and the other has a male end at the wire connection.

That would be a sensor located downflow of the catalytic converter. Not up on the the manifold, that would be sensor1. I believe it is under the car about half way back.

SOURCE: need to replace bank 2 sensor 2 on 2003 toyota

Bank 2, sensor 2 is a heated O2 sensor located below (after) the catalytic converter on the passenger-side. When this sensor gets clogged and/or goes bad from rust and heat fatigue, the voltage drops low enough to cause the electronic control module to register error code P0161, which then causes the check engine light to come on.

To replace Bank 2, sensor 2, remove the debri shield from just behind the front bumper, underneath the vehicle. There will be 10 bolts holding it on (10mm, I believe). After removing it, look toward the center of the newly exposed area and you will see 2 finger-like objects projecting out from the engine with wires coming out of each. The one on the left (passenger-side) is bank 2, sensor 2. The one on the right (driver-side) is bank 1, sensor 2.

I got my direct-fit sensor online for $55 from Remart Auto Parts. I know it is tempting to get the universal-fit type and save the cash. But after doing that once, I wouldn't care to do it again.

I found a YouTube video showing pictures of where the two lower (after catalytic converter) sensors are located. While the video only points out the driver-side sensor (bank 1, sensor 2), it's easy to spot the other one being only inches away.

Toyota Camry is showing a P0038 code after replacing the sensors. Any suggestions please.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from MISC to Toyota Camry.

After replacing the sensors, the code needs to be cleared with a scan tool.

What Does the P0038 Code Mean? Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0038 stands for "HO2S Heater Control Circuit High (Bank 1 Sensor 2)". Oxygen sensors evaluate the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas and send their readings to the powertrain control module (PCM).Oct 15, 2021

2016 Toyota Camry SE. I'm showing P0136 and P0137 both. Does that mean I need to replace both sensors? top and bottom?

Question edited for clarity, full year MAKER, model.
Question moved to model category.

'Exhaust coming in the car' has no bearing on this. If you have exhaust coming in, you have a hole in the floor or somewhere else!

https://www.google.com/search?q=2016+Toyota+Camry+SE.+P0136

https://www.google.com/search?q=2016+Toyota+Camry+SE.+P0137

These codes are for Sensor 2 on both banks, not an upper and lower. Make sure you use the genuine Denso sensors. Don't go cheap on sensors.

P0137 stands for "Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2).

P0136 definition: H02S2 Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 2, Sensor 2)

This one P0136 suggest a bad wiring connection, not necessarily a bad sensor. It is the heater circuit. Replacing will normally solve.

How to replace o2 sensor located in bank 2 sensor 2 on Toyota Venza 2010

The oxygen sensor itself requires simple hand tools to remove. They do make a special socket to get them off if you want to buy one. On Toyota, bank 2 is the bank on the front of the engine, and sensor 2 is oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter. Sensor 1 is located before the catalytic converter, usually in the exhaust manifold.
