How to change headlight assembly in 1996 chevy sport utility

same as non sport i guess... its not a sport, the sport came out in 1996 with wide frame, and J18 engines. in 1996 to 1998
later became Grand vitra's with V6s.
i see some dealer put sports tags on some non sports suzuki's
seriously bad idea that.
it be same as the free FSM book shows. posted over 100 times.
this book is the GM version of the G16 engine based car. same....

1: gain access to the rear of HL.
2: twist the European style, HL , lamp holder, and it unlocks
3: replace lamp.
if you want to replace the the HEAD LIGHT SHELL that is different.
remove grill, remove shell, replace shell, align lamps.

find a used headlight assembly on eBay. buy it and install it.

What you do is extract the entire headlight assembly. It is usually held in with 3 or 4 bolts. None of which are adjustment bolts. When the assembly is out, you have easy access to the bulbs.

lift hood, and on top of headlight assembly there are two plastic slide pins on top of headlight assembly to hold assembly in, just pull up on the two pins, when assembly is loose and will come out. now you can change your headlights. when putting back on, push in on headlight assembly, and push the pins back down.

under hood on top of headlight assembly, there are two plastic slide pins. pull up on these slide pins to release headlight assembly. then you will have enough of room to change bulbs. when putting assembly back on car, push in on assembly while putting pins back down. to secure headlight assembly.

Yes, you can. Just take off the front grill, and the
headlights assembly. Don't tinker with the head-
light assembly adjusting nut, as this would change your headlight level. Take headlight bulb
off and change it. Replace the headlight, then, the
grill, and it's done.

there are nuts/bolts behind the grill. remove them.

sounds like alinment shims. you need to take it to a shop and have it realined.
