Nissan Maxima 2001 panic alarm goes off every 30 min

My 2001 Maxima's panic alarm goes off randomly every 30 min. I have taken out the battery out of remote and locked the car with key, but of no help. I have not tried to replace the battery.

I have had the same problem in the past. The problem appears to be the fact that the dome light was set to come on when the doors open. I turned it to the off position and the problem stopped.

I have the same problem with my 98 Nissan Maxima. It started occurring shortly after I replaced the battery in my car. My cousin who is a mechanic suggested that I unhook the battery and let it sit for a while before reconnecting it. I tried that and it did not fix it. Is my only option replacing my new battery with another new battery?

Panic alarm goes off when I try to replace the battery. no after alarm system installed

Reset it with your key in the driver door lock (lock and then unlock). The alarm goes off because it detected a voltage drop. This is actually what its supposed to do.

I have a 2001 audi a4 my alarm randomly goes off and it kills the battery

is it Audi manufacturing alarm system?
You may have a sort circuit in your alarm system. Most alarm system only went off about 5 min. then will back to on again. If you plan take to the shop you might consider to buy a new alarm system will save you $$$

My maxima 2001 alarm goes off for no reason - how to stop it

fluctuation in voltage on the car will do this also a weak remote battery will also. If this is aftermarket alarm set the shock sensor a litle higher. BUT if this is at night when the vehicle is alone I wouldnt shut it off because someone may be tripping the alarm so you will shut it off and then they can get into your car or possibly steal it which is an old thieves trick.

Same Problem - Xterra Panic Alarm Keeps Going Off

If you are close to the truck when it happens, try removing the battery from the remote. Some times when remotes are worn, they can send out a constant signal setting off the alarm, unlocking the doors and so on. I would try that first. If it stops, then you verified the remote is the problem

Thanks Jay!

1995 Nissan Maxima alarm system

Hey, I bought my 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE brand new back in July 1994 with factory installed alarm, it just doen't make any sound when you arm or disarm it with remote. The only way you can tell whether it is armed or disarmed is from the lever position of your doors and the blinking red light under the dash. Only the newer versions of Nissan/Infiniti's has the "Audio/Silent" mode button on the remote which allows you to activate/deactivate you car alarm with an audiable sound or no sound at all. No worry, there is nothing wrong with your remote or car alarm.

Panic alarm keeps going off

I had the same problem with my '05 GMC Canyon. It turned out that the ignition switch was shorting out on me. Once they replaced that, no more trouble.

2001 Nissan Maxima SE-rattling noise for 4 min after start

This only happens when the Car is Cold???? It is the Exhaust Manifold. You need to Replace the Exhaust Manifold Gasket and check the Rest for Tightness.

Nissan maxima 2001 panic alarm goes off for no reason

Hello, I had the same problem with my 2001 Maxima. The dealer suggested new key fobs, but the eventual fix was the car battery. When the battery is on the way out, the voltage drop is enough to set it off, just as it would if there was a voltage spike when someone breaks in. I have no problems now!
