I had the same thing happen to my Jeep Cherokee. For me the answer was that I had disconnected the air filter to work on the power steering pump and I forgot to reconnect it. When I did, the stalling at stoplights went away.

Neutral to drive and back is not an issue. explain more on the start and stop. how long? in drive? what it is does, just besides , it runs and then dies.

1998 Jeep Cherokee cranks but will not start

Mine did the same thing, I also replaced the crank sensor and it did not solve my problem. I replaced the fuel pump relay and it ran fine ever since. Try that, it's a cheap item, and easy install.

OK...if someone gives me a bad rating on this, I'll be really annoyed...
saw off the "fixed" hold-down on the distributor and use a chevrolet smallblock hold-down. Once re-installed turn distributor ccw about 1/4" or slightly more. If I'm correct, engine should run fine after that.

Having trouble keeping my 98 jeep grand cherokee running

i recommend cleaning the throttle plates. they are located unter the intake hose form the engine to the air filter housing. if you open them with the engine not runniong you will see they will be covered in carbon. use a good carb cleaner and a rag to wipe them clean

Tried to start my 1998 Gd. Cherokee Lmtd. but it seems doesn´t pump gas

Hi, you should start by checking all your fuses,if they are all good ,check fuel pump relay, if this is ok , check fuel filter, if filteris good ,you should run a fuel presure text, this will determine if your fuel pump is ok, good luck.......
