Cold engine , hot, both ,at idle or only at 3000 RPM up.
we cant guess any of that. and matters. does does:
NO numbers, ,try the PSI, numbers. post them
do you need the spec, we have it from the real FSM book.
use a real gauge, to measure it , not the toys in the cluster.
no oil weight stated API 50w?
pump relief valve stuck closed.
not using real shop gauges to see TRUTH.

SOURCE: oil pressure excessively high

There are a few things to cause the oil pressure to change.
The first, and easiest to check, is your oil filter. Some filters have a bypass valve, when did you last have engine serviced ?
Another part is the oil pressure sender itself. It may be shorting or going bad.
Please check those out and let me know.

Oil pressure high, oil level low

Oil pressure and oil level are two different creatures.

your oil gauge determines oil pressure while the oil can (red light on dash) indicates oil levels.

There are usually two different sensors but can gauge the same types of things. E.G. - If your oil is so low that your pressure gauge is affected this can cause engine failure. Thus--a good rule of thumb is to check your oil once a week as the oil pressure gauge and red oil can may not always work as intended.

I hope this helps!

High oil pressure reading on a 2005 nissan aramada

You may have a defective oil pressure sending unit on the engine or the oil pump relief spring may be sticking. Have the oil pressure tested with a special tool that goes in the oil port the sender is screwed into to determine the cause of the high pressure.;

What are codes p1249 & p1211

P1211 Injector Control Pressure Sensor Above / Below Desired P1249 Wastegate Control Valve Performance
P1211 We all know that this code is commonly caused by "Hot Chips" that are demanding more Injection Control Pressure (ICP) than the High Pressure Oil Pump can deliver. For what it's worth, these are the exact parameters that trigger this code:
  • ICP 410psi Higher Than Desired for 7 Seconds
  • ICP 280psi Lower Than Desired for 7 Seconds
This code can also be caused by legitimate High Pressure Oil System issues. Below is a list of some of the causes:
  • Failed or Sticking IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator)
  • Failed or Weak HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump)
  • Any Leak in High Pressure Oil System (o-ring, stuck injector, etc.)
  • Low Fuel Pressure (Rare)

P1249 it is the HPOP, above or below pressure, if you have added a performance chip to your vehicle , you will get this code from time to time, basically its Turbo over boost

What causes high oil pressure reading 1990 toyota pickup?

Probably a faulty oil pressure relief valve.

If not done already, you should have an independent oil pressure gauge hooked up to the lube system by a mechanic to check that the high oil pressure reading you are getting is correct. Before doing this change the engine oil and the oil filter and ensure you use the correct oil and only fit a quality and correct spec oil filter.

High oil pressure 80 psi on a jeep wrangler, what could be the cause?

Possible stuck pressure relief in the pump or a defective sending unit. Try putting a container of Marvel oil in there and see if it helps. Also putting a mechanical pressure gauge on it temporarily will give you an idea if the pressure really is that high. if pressure remains that high it can cause the filter to fail and leak. Therefore if you can't find an external cause, then the pump will need to be replaced or you can loose the engine if filter fails.
