Hi,i have a 99,golf gti 1.8 20 valve.just found lots of dark yellow gunk under oil cap.is this a head gasket problem.car dosent overheat and runs ok? also no sign of oil in the water but again yellow gunk...

Not uncommon, especially in colder climates. Clean it off if it bugs you. Do you change your oil at recommended intervals? The gunk shows up on cars that are driven only short distances.
