The crank sensor would give those symptoms , have the OBD codes read to confirm , the CEL wont always come on , don't rely to much on the CEL you know if your vehicle isn't running right

96 E250 300 ci Was running perfect then started missing Replaced vacuumed hoses, found 1 loose spark plug, and 3 that were finger tight. Replaced all 6 plugs.

If your 96 E250 300ci was running perfectly and then started missing and the code is indicating a miss fire in cylinders 1 and 2, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
  1. Check the ignition system: Make sure that the ignition system is functioning properly. Check the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and ignition coil for any signs of wear or damage.
  2. Check the fuel system: Make sure that the fuel system is functioning properly. Check the fuel filter, fuel pressure, and fuel injectors for any signs of wear or damage.
  3. Check the compression: A compression test can help to determine if the engine is getting enough compression to run properly. Low compression in cylinders 1 and 2 can cause the engine to miss fire.
  4. Check the vacuum lines: Make sure that the vacuum lines are properly connected and not leaking. Any vacuum leaks can cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  5. Check the PCV valve: The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  6. Check the EGR valve: The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  7. Check the Engine Control Module: The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the ignition and fuel systems and if it's malfunctioning it can cause the engine to miss fire.
It's important to note that some of these steps may require special tools and knowledge of the vehicle's engine system, so it's best to take it to a professional mechanic to avoid causing more damage.

Tach stopped working and engine idles but missing bad when try to accelerate

Could be a bad connection between the Distributor and the ECU and the Tach. Could be a bad Tach. But the engine miss firing points to a bad ignition coil in the distributor.

When driving it feels like runing out gas or itis going to stop. also went turning and step on branks an sound knowing

Feel like running out of gas is usually an engine miss fire. Brake noise is usually low brake pads. A long shot that both these relate to each other is broken breather hose (what kind of noise are the brakes making?) Engine miss fire is either worn plugs or ignition coil.

2003 Santa Fe V 6 miss firing with New plugs and wires

Got a check engine light? Get the codes read to find out if the misfires are on all cylinders or just 1. Could be ign coil, bad crank or cam sensor, or a valve issue

No Engine I know of has a 1,2,3,4, fitting I am sure you have the firing order connected wrong, plus your description point to the firing order as well. Cheers, Malcolm Campbell.

1991 Chevy Caprice has a mild miss fire and stall at low rpm: This is my latest update: I checked and cleaned the EGR,PCV,IAC valve, M.A.P sensor and Throttle body(bore/butterfly). with carb cleaner....

Do you have the idle speed turned up to keep it from dying? Because it is high. Check engine light on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks at the gasket under the throttle body? How does the car run under acceleration? You might have a worn distributor shaft.

Tach. drop's to zero while driving 70 ?

I have had the almost same problem twice. A 'thump', like the engine missed a fire and tach drops. Seems OK after restart. Electrical? Timing chain slip?
Has 135,000 mile. Any clues?

Engine Back fired, blew out muffler.

Sounds like you may have gotten some debris in your exhaust pipe or something was clogging your muffler. Maybe the innerds of you Catalytic Coverter went and got stuck or the innerds of your muffler gave out. That would be the only few things I could think of to cause something like that.

Sincerely,

JC
