SOURCE: 1985 honda prelude will not start

you need to check for spark and fuel. Make several attempts to start the Honda, then pull a plug and examine it for evidence of gas. It should be damp after several attempts. Next check for spark. Lay plug on metal surface of engine, have someone turn key and crank engine while u watch plug tip for spark. Do it out of sunlight for best viewing. Post your findings so we can go to the next step. If there is spark, but no fuel, it could be the fuel filter or pump, no spark could be coil, ignitor, etc Curt

SOURCE: 2000 Honda Prelude hood won't fully shut

You need to adjust the latch itself. Loosen the 3 bolts and move the latch up a quarter inch. Other than that take it to a decent body shop and they will diagnose it for free.

SOURCE: 1983 Honda Prelude stall during driving I put gas

first is there gas in the tank first, then check the fuel pump- take out the fuel hose that lead to the carburetor and crank the engine to see if fuel is coming, if not , check all hose leading to the tank - if ok , check the fuel pump- also check fuel filter too . let me know what is doing

Car wont start

If it has been sitting for 3 years it could be a number of things. First thing to try is a good tune up (plugs, wires, oil change, air filter, and fuel filter). If the plugs have fouled out they are not getting enough spark to burn the fuel. Also if the fuel itself has turned, you should try to drain the tank, this is not feasible at times and can be substituted by adding as much fresh gas as possible and a can of Octane boost/ Gas drier. SeaFoam is what I would recommend (found at your local autoparts store. If you have over half a tank of gas that has been sitting that long, you will need to find a way to drain what is in it. There are a few tricks to doing this without dropping the gas tank or sucking it out with a garden hose. Try the tune up first though.

How to drain a gas tank in a 95 honda prelude

I woulldn't worry about that fuel too much. Let me know if you have done anything to the motor, i.e., cleaned the spark plugs, checked the oil, water/radiator fluid level...corrosion on the battery. What does it sound like when you try to start it?

They make products to add to the gas...fuel stabilizer for example.
