I have a 2007 chevrolet equinox LS the lights came on to service the stablitrak and my ABS light came on it went off then the next time i cranked it the lights came back on. it says they need servicing i was wondering could anyone tell me what to do to service them we want to do the work ourselves i read them onfo about the 80 amp fuse and am going to try that but does anyone have anymore info that would be helpful

The Service Stabilitrak and Traction Control warning messages will come on when there is a problem in the Powertrain Control computer (engine and transmission), there may or may not be a check engine light on. The first step to start is to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. You can have this done free of charge at Auto Zone or visit some AutoShop with scanner reader; without the code, we could only guess.

You have a couple choices. You can go to a shop or dealer and have them scan the system and tell you what is wrong. Once they know the problem, they will quote the repair. You can also go to most any parts store and get the codes scanned for free but... they will not tell you what is wrong. they only give the code and what it means without full diagnostic.

If you go this route, you could come back to us and we can help narrow down once we know the code. In many cases when all these lights come on, it is one of the 4 wheel speed sensors. If one sensor goes bad, the lights come on, disable the system.

This is one of the more common problems we see. A wheel speed sensor price will vary as to if it is bought afternarket or through the dealer.
