Without know any specifics,I would say you have a bad sensor or exciter ring for the a.b.s sensors. Earlier built new model town cars 90-91 had problems with the front exciter rings and sensors because the rings are part of the hub and bearing, and first model years used cheap thin metal for rings that got easily damaged causing a false a.b.s activation.does it seem to happen more often at lower speeds coming to a stop? Under 10 mph more so than coming of a highway on a gradual stop? Unfortunately if this is the problem the a.b.s light could not be staying on, it'll flash when happens, but won't stay on because it's actually doing what it's supposed to do. So my recommendation is to bring it to a reputable repair shop and have them repair it.this is considered a safety concern so please don't drive until it's fixed.

U0125-00 and other codes present with traction control, acc, and 4wd

Have you checked the connectors in the wiring harnesses for the ABS unit and associated components for water intrusion or corrosion?

The codes that you've posted (details below) all point to a poor electrical connection in the circuit(s) or an open or short in the circuit(s). That could be either due to corrosion, liquid intrusion, a wiring harness rubbing against something hot or something that vibrates and has damaged the wiring.

If the wiring and connections are all intact and there are no opens, shorts to power or shorts to ground, the next think to look at would be the modules and/or sensors to make sure they're operating within spec.

U1003 Possible Causes:

*Faulty Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
*Module Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
*Module harness is open or shorted Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
*Module circuit poor electrical connection

The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) sets if the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module fails to receive bus messages from the Dynamic Sensor for approximately 150 ms.

C0020-1c Possible Causes:

*Faulty Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) *Control Module Faulty Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU)
*Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) harness is open or shorted Hydraulic Control Unit
*(HCU) circuit poor electrical connection

The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) consists of a valve body, pump motor, and inlet/outlets for the brake lines. The combined HCU and Antilock Brake System (ABS) module is located forward of the master cylinder.

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module monitors the ABS Pump Motor. The ABS Module sets the OBDII code when the ABS Pump Motor is not to factory specifications.

What is the C0265 error code

The ABS EBCM anti-lock brake module is failing causing problems with the ABS pump running constantly, also will drain your battery.
  1. Remove the ABS fuse to prevent ABS motor burn out.
  2. You can still drive your vehicle with the module removed.
  3. We recommend covering the exposed surface of the hydraulic control unit with aluminum foil to keep out water and dirt.
Common Failures:
  • ABS Pump Always Running
  • Codes: C0265, C0267, C0268
  • Pump Motor Circuit trouble code
  • Power Relay trouble code
  • Valve Relay Trouble code
  • Dump Valves (solenoids) trouble codes
  • No Communication

How to turn off abs light on 1997 buick skylark

Well the ABS light(Anti-lock Brake System) light when lit means the computer has stored a trouble code. Also, this means the ABS system is off-line. The brakes function as usual but have the possibility of locking up in a panic stop situation. So to turn off the light you should take it to a qualified shop that can diagnose the trouble code with a scan tool (most likely a wheel sensor) and give you an estimate for the repair. Get your ABS system working again!
I hope this helps you

Why is the Abs light is on when it is nothing is wrong with the brakes?

the abs light is on because the automatic braking system has a problem yes it is still safe to drive but if you go into a wet condition and slam on the brakes you might go into a spin without the abs to keep you straight.usually its a wheel bearing sensor that's bad but can also be the control module best to go over to a auto zone or advance auto parts to get it checked for free.hope this helps you please vote if so.
